I originally thought I would have around 150 people at my wedding and invite about 170ish. That was my initial pen and paper guest list. My next excel guest list had about 130 people. Well, my computer pooped out so on to guest list number 3. My third guest list only has 80 people. I have been racking my brain but I cant figure out how I went from 150 to 80. This includes a +1 for people I thought would actually bring a guest. The third guest list does not include kids but I think there might be 10 kids if all the guest brought kids. This seems like such a small number. I am so confused. Where did my guest list go? Okay this is a rhetorical question.
How many people are you having at your wedding? I am just curious who is doing the big weddings and how many are doing small weddings. What is your reasoning for having this size of wedding?
I like the idea of having about 120 people because it is lively yet at the same time intimate.

@gulbraa44: We started off saying 150, but now we’re at 350. How did that happen??!!

We will be having 50 or less 🙂

We had right around 100 people. For our venue and the seating we wanted we couldn’t have over 120 and it worked out perfectly! We got to get some time with each person and it was the perfect number of guests for us.

We had about 135. We originally figured we’d have about 180 (factoring in expected decline rate on 250 invites), but we had more people decline then the norm because almost everyone had to travel.

We started off saying we’d invite between 250-300…..we invited 402. I’m planning for around 290.

We had about 95, and then a few of those didn’t show.

@messybride: Why are you planning only for 290 when you invited that many?
@PrncssDva: 90 precent of the guests are from out of town. We’ve gotten about 65% of the invites back so far and are on track to be around 290.

Our invite list is under 200, and we expect around 150 to attend. The majority of guests are family or local. 🙂

@messybride: Oh ok. Be careful, because all of my family (on both sides) is out of town and I didn’t expect most of them to come. Guess what…..they ARE!! Thanks for the love family…perfect timing. LOL

Our venue can handle 100 people and I’m we’ll have 100. A couple of days after our engagement the future in-laws handed us a list of 75 people!! We managed to get them down to about 36. If we get “no” RSVPs, I’m sure we’ll have others to add to the list. But I think 100 will be perfect.

We had about 195. We invited about 200 so most people made it. Lots of those didn’t RSVP and there were people there we didn’t even invite but were happy they showed up. Always round up when giving final numbers to caterer!

we invited about 215 and ended up with just under 150 coming

We’re inviting 150, expecting 110. It wasn’t really a “okay we’ll invite x let’s fill up those spots” type decision… it was more we just made a list of those we wanted there and boom– there is a number. Good thing we’re not more social 🙂
