You know, I am trying to keep the numbers down to like 90. It was going to be 70 but I don’t see that happening. It bugs the living daylights out of me that I have to invite some of mine and FI’s family when we have great loving friends we’d rather have in those seats. Urgh!

I wish I had your foresight lady, I am dreading the wedding guest list and I have successfully ignored it for a few weeks now…won’t be long ’till it slaps me in the face again though. How’s this: FI’s uncle is married with two babies, I am having a child friendly wedding. So we don’t like this guy, and he doesn’t love us either – in fact he dislikes us very much and me in particular (doesn’t invite me to their bdays etc but will invite FI). Through the bush telegraph he learns we are getting married, promptly phones to tell us to keep him updated.

Weird much? PLUS that just adds FOUR people to the guest list. Just like that – woooosh! Oef.

I invited 40 people and expect 30 to attend. the smaller the guest list the better.  close family and friends. FI’s dad invited three of his friends one of whom we’ve never met.

Yep, I’m the same, try not to worry about that drama flaring up! We are inviting immidiate family and then our friends who would have been in our bridal party (had we had a larger wedding) So 25 all up including us.

PS, partners are also invited and single people will get a plus 1.

We invited 300 which I realize is a little insane for  Destination Wedding. We wanted to invite everyone we would have invited at home and we have some decent sized families. Of course we knew most wouldn’t make it, and we tried our best to not put pressure on anyone. I think at first I expected (and budgeted for) 40-50, but as we started hearing from people we realized it would be closer to 60-75. Final count will be 68. Can’t wait!

@jb20:  practically everyone. We invited seven friends, our immediate families, our grandparents, our grandparents siblings, my parents cousins, my cousins, my aunts/uncles. Only people who were really left out were my grandma’s cousins and aunts (who we see once a year and I’m not close to) and parents friends. So about 125 people were invited and about 75 will probably be there (don’t have all the rsvp’s back, this is an estimate). We wanted it to be smaller, but we aren’t paying for a lot and our families thought we should invite these people.
