Usually about 50% I have thrown 4 already not including my own.  You have to watch out for date, time, weather, and place. Try to stay away from holidays. I find right after lunch is a great time not to early to have a couple of drinks and not to late you have to worries about people with kids. I like 130 or 200. Make it a neutral place somewhere where most people can travel. Last but not lest Saturday versus Sunday. Saturday is hard if people have kids that usually do sports on this day. Sunday is hard if people are religious. Well hope this helps.

36 out of 30 ish invitees came to my shower – there were several husbands/boyfriends who came in to say hi, got roped into having some alcoholic punch and sticking around to play fooseball in the rec room!

Mine was super tiny as my family all lives quite far away. Invited 8 and 6 came (the other two couldn’t get the time off work to travel to it).

I haven’t had my bridal shower yet, but between 100 and 150 people seems about right. We are having a large wedding of 600 guests.

I think about 50 were invited and only 2 or 3 people couldn’t come because they were out of town or had other plans. It was important to me that ONLY close friends and family were invited to my shower.  I didn’t want a huge shower with lots of people I didn’t know well…I wasn’t interested in getting lots of gifts.  For me, it was about spending quality time with people I cared about and who cared about me.

There were about 30-32 that attended out of 36 I think? Mostly family, a handful of friends.

I invited 30 and 23 came.  It was mostly family and close family friends, both his and mine.  It was a great day!

I believe we invited around 70, and around 60 came. My family all lives pretty local and it was a Sunday afternoon in January so we weren’t competing with much.

We invited about 100 people. About 60 came. A lot of the people who were invited and didn’t come were extended family. Basically all other family came, and most friends who were invited did as well.

gijanedoe :  The bridesmaids who planned the shower invited about 20 people, and 11 showed up. The majority of those who didn’t come weren’t expected to (out of state family), 1 was on vacation, and 2 had to work the day of the shower.

I didn’t plan my shower, but only family and close friends were invited (if I had of been planning, I would have invited coworkers too). 14 people were invited and 12 came. DH’s Nana lives too far away (and is too old) to make day trips, so her invitation was more ‘courtesy’ as nobody was expecting her to make the three hour drive. One of DH’s cousins didn’t attend as well. She didn’t give a reason. I wasn’t offended though because this particular cousin I only met maybe a dozen times.
