So we’ve finalized our guest list and we’re at 109. Our venue can hold 100 people max. (as in – there is a $25 fine for anyone over that number)
We’re pretty confident that at least 9 people won’t be able to come. What was your experience? How many people are you inviting and how many does your venue hold?

We invited 130 people and 90 came (most invites were local). I would be very surprised if you didn’t have at least 9 people not able to come. However, for our venue, we did have to count the photographers and DJ as they were eating and taking up room.
Edit: Our venue could hold up to several hundred, but was blocked off the fit the appropriate number of people.

Our venue holds 245 we invited 200. They have a really small dance floor, so we didn’t want it to get too crowded.

Our venue holds 160 and we invited 140. When I did my invite list, I invited people that I was hoping they said yes. Not hoping some would say no. Just be careful. You may be more loved than you think you are and get all yes!

Your numbers give me faith!! And thankfully we checked with our venue – we will obviously feed our band & photographer, but apparently they have room to eat elsewhere in the venue and won’t count for the overall numbers.
Exactly – both sides of the family told us that some people “definitely won’t come!!” but you never know right?! Two people of my friends for sure won’t come (they live overseas and already told me they won’t make it – invites just for fun) so that brings us down to 107… fingers crossed! And you are totally right, we should be inviting people hoping that they say yes. Unfortunately, Fiance has a huge family and we’ve already made huge cuts to their side of the guest list.

That sounds perfect! Lots of extra space!

Our venue could hold 250 and we invited 250. We only had 200 come though so we had a little extra room. It was perfect!
Our venue held 200 and we had 180 confirmed guests, but i’m sure there were 210 there.
Our venue will hold approximately 150 and we’re inviting 85.

Our venue holds 80 and we invited 83 or 84. We went conservative. I think you should be fine, I would be really surprised if you didn’t get 9 no’s!

200 person cap. Turns out that includes vendors! OOps.
Invited 220, but people kept adding just this one VIP– so 231.
If there are more than 200 (we have 6 vendors) then we are over fire code and I have NO IDEA what they will do to us.
Our wedding is mostly Out of Town guests– so I’m guessing we’ll have around 150?

Our venue can technically hold up to 350 people, although that would be kind of tight. We are only having 90-100 guests, so that leaves lots of room for dancing and such! 🙂
Even though our venue can hold more, we are capping it at 100 guests. We have 110 people on our guest list now, but at least 4 of those people are pretty much guaranteed not to be coming and we’re pretty sure at least 6 more people also will not be able to make it.

You guys are making me feel waay better!! Although after a *final* consultation with FI’s parents we’re up to 112. But I think we’ll be fine. Thanks guys!!

109 for 100 people? I’m sure you’ll be fine. Just remember that you’re included in the count!

I don’t remember how many our venue holds…maybe I should look at this! Our list including wedding party is 143 or 144.
The church for the ceremony holds 110. Could be interesting! Although there is room to throw a few folding chairs in the back. As well it is mostly Out of Town guests, so I’m not worried about it.
