zero went shopping with me until i felt i found a some to show.  then i invited my Maid/Matron of Honor and mom to get their say.  later i felt bad about not having my Future Mother-In-Law come out for some shopping for fun.  and i went on a separate trip out with my step-mom (in another state) to give her the experience too.

in the end though, i am glad that i didn’t have anyone with me.  sales people are already one person too many to sway your opinion, i knew kinda what i liked and didn’t want anyone else input to ruin it. that being said, having the two ladies give me their thoughts once i had one set in my head was invaluable.

The first time I went I had 2 – my mom (who was in from out of town) and my Maid/Matron of Honor.  The second time, just my Maid/Matron of Honor came with me, but I felt like she had things to do, so I felt rushed. I kind of wish I would have gone solo a time or two first to narrow things down…

Other advice:  Don’t feel pressured to buy right away if your wedding is infact June 2013…  I felt rushed when I was dress shopping because all the shops told me it would take so long for my dress to come in.  I arrived 5 months early. ๐Ÿ™‚

1st trip? 1, a work friend.

The follow up trip to buy my dress? Zero. The perfect number. ๐Ÿ™‚ NO ONE knows what my dress looks like and I was able to buy something knowing it was 100% what I wanted (no outside opinions to confuse me). ๐Ÿ™‚

The first time I went was meant to be just for fun: I was really happy to have an excuse to try on Alfred Angelo’s Disney Princess dresses! I took two friends with me, who were also just interested in the Disney dresses. The second time (the “for real” time), I took my Mum and 3 sisters (the BMs). Both times were fun. I think some of my sisters lost interest towards the end, but they did all give feedback, and all liked the dress I have chosen (not a Disney dress!). I recently went back for a fitting, and just took Mum with me.

Well I was going to go with Mom, invite Future Mother-In-Law & Future Sister-In-Law and probably my aunt who was paying for the dress. But I ended up going with a friend just to look at dresses a local boutique had the weekend before a huge sale they were having, to get an idea of what types of dresses I liked. Well… after trying on a few, we got to the last one (the one I picked out) and that was it. It fit like a glove and I called my mom (tried to talk her into letting me put a payment on). Went to lunch w/ my friend & waited for Future Mother-In-Law to come see the dress since my mom lives 4 hours away. & She teared up & friend teared up & we sent my mom a picture of it & we placed the payment.

Since then I’ve been back to try on w/ my mom & 2 of her sisters on different occassions, so everyone that would have been with me has seen me in it. & The salon was great, they even let my aunts & mom each pick out a dress so they could see me what they imagined & then what I chose.

(Sorry for the long comment lol)

Just my mom, and I actually purchased my dress alone. I’m not into the whole crowd scene because my dress is my choice, and I wanted to pick what made me happy.

just me and mom! one random girl (pre-teen) came up to me and said I looked very pretty and then said “if you’re getting married, you’re going to be beautiful!”

I think maybe it was because some girls were there trying on prom dresses, so maybe she thought I might be buying a white poofy prom dress?

I did wish I had my Maid/Matron of Honor there, because I kept texting her pictures of all the dresses to get her opinion!

Just my Mum. I didn’t actually intend on buying a dress, I just so happened to fall in love with the first dress and that was it.

I wish my sister (MOH) had been there, but she doesn’t live in the country.

Two! My Maid/Matron of Honor and my mom. My dress was the first I tried on [tried on four more just to be sure]. There was no need for more trips after that! It was the perfect amount to me.

5, my mom and sister, Mother-In-Law and SIL, and my Maid/Matron of Honor. For me it was perfect, it’s a rare occassion to get these 5 women in the same city let alone the same place so I knew I wasn’t leaving the store without a dress!
