    Two dogs, 1 cat.

When we moved into the home, there was a lone stray kitten that was left behind living under our house. We took her in and became attached and now we have one big happy family!

I have an 11 year old german shepard mix, I LOVE HER!!!

and a fish named Monstro (from Pinocchio)

I would like to get more pets but my dog is not dog friendly, cat friendly, or any other animal friendly haha. She was a stray so she’s very territorial.

But she’s all I need, I would rather her live for 100 more years than to get another puppy haha. I can’t wait to go home today and pet her belly!

I have two cats (Finn and Dory) and a dog, Scout, who I think is a dachshund/Australian shepherd mix. They are all around 2-3 years old, but we adopted them all within the last year from the SPCA and a dog rescue. I highly recommend adopting adult pets- they often get forgotten in shelters.

I absolutely adore my pets- they are so stinking cute and have great personalities. A huge plus is that Scout gets along very well with the cats, and has developed a real friendship with Finn. (She and Finn are cuddling right now!) It is really heart warming. So many people can’t get along, but here this two different animals that were previously abused and should hate each other instead took to each other immediately.

I had a dog and a turtle, he had a cat, then we adopted another dog and cat. city ordinance allows for 5 max, so I won’t allow any more. mainly because he’d adopt a dozen more if I didn’t stop him.

One two-year-old maltese with a missing leg and an obsession with snuggles and licking dust off the floor. ๐Ÿ™‚

He’s a weirdo alright, with a storied and unfortunate past and very mild behavioral… quirks… that we’re working on, but we love him.

I am an animal lover and have owned or fostered plenty.

I used to have an equally bizarre cat, but my parents stole her, kind of.

The story: Cat A, my cat, and I stayed with them for a few months. My parents already had Cat B and Cat C. Cat B is extremely unfriendly with other cats. Not violent or aggressive, just standoffish and not interested in hanging out or playing. Cat C wanted a cat friend SOOO bad and would always try to cuddle with Cat B, who was having none of it. This went on for years.

Cat A was initially wary, but once she got used to them, she and Cat C became total bffs. Cat C had never gotten to have a cat friend before, and was over the moon, and Cat A became less clingy and needy toward me, and spent more time with Cat C. By the time I moved back out, they would spend all day every day together playing or napping cuddled up on the sofa. I couldn’t bear to pull them apart, so my parents kept her.

Before that I had a ferret, who I “lost custody” of during a breakup. His mom “accidentally” left the cage open when she was supposed to be ferret-sitting and he got outside. Their house is surrounded by woods and it was summer, so I can imagine he may have gotten by for a bit at least. I hope.

Before that, I had a blue-tongued skink who died. ๐Ÿ™ It was super sad, he was the chillest lizard ever. He’d ride on your shoulder and everything.

Also in that same time, I fostered a chinchilla, because I was working in a pet shop and some asshole just brought it in, cage and all, put it on the counter, and walked out the door. Just abandoned it in the shop. I took her home (nobody else could) and took care of it for a bit until I could find a forever home. It was a happy ending though, the lady who adopted was married to a retired police officer, and they were chinchilla enthusiasts. They had 9 of them, and a whole room in their house just for their babies, set up with toys, bedding, dust baths, puzzles, climbing areas, etc. It was chinchilla heaven. ๐Ÿ˜€

    @moriah:  60+ turantulas?!? Ahh! lol

We have one cat together, bourbon. He’s the snuggliest cat in the world I swear. We found him and 5 brothers and sisters in a box beside a dumpster :(. We found homes for the others but he was so small and unhealthy when we found them that he stuck around longer than the others until he was healthy. After that, we couldn’t get rid of him! He lives at my SOs right now but will be coming with us when we move out ๐Ÿ™‚

@WannaBeeMrsB:  Yeah.  DH was into them and had a few when we got together, but then I got interested too and kind of became his enabler.  Now we have a whole wall of their tanks, and have even bred them a few times.  That’s how we got so many – breeding and trading with other hobbyists.

We have two Birman cats and a 1 year old ADD Rotti (she is a LOT of work lol), when we moved I had to sell my 6ft by 2ft fish tank but will be getting an 8ft one soon. I also had two horses up to two years ago when they passed away of old age (they had a good life) so hopefully when our finaces get better we will get another couple of horses and a koi pond in the front yard! Do mice living in the garage count as well?

At the moment I have just one cat, but once we get our house we will be getting two dogs. And I’m sure once our daughter/other future kids grow up a little we will gain some rodents/fish/reptiles. I grew up in a house FULL of animals (I think we topped out at 15 or 16 of different varieties), but Hubs has only ever had one dog and one cat at the same time, so it will be an adjustment for both of us.
