I only met physically with one (the one I chose) but I scoured sooo many websites and facebook pages and wedding classifieds before contacting photographers. I spoke to probably 4 on the phone, but only called back and made an appointment with the one we chose. 🙂

How did I decide – well, I’m a big “if I don’t think I’ll get along with you IRL I probably won’t choose you” kind of decision maker. So like I said…4 phone calls…one made the cut. haha. But her WORK was so great that she was my top choice before making phone calls anyway. Also, her price ranges were great. She had a lower budget, middle of the road, etc etc.

I considered a few but ultimately only met with one and booked them immediately.  Their business is good friends with my business so we… made beautiful business together.  ha

I emailed probably about 10 to get their prices (yep, I’m that person who emails and just says, “Can I have a price list please?”  I like to get down to business.  Should be pretty obvious I like their photography to some degree if I’m bothering to initiate contact.)  I met with three and talked to a fourth on the phone before deciding.

But I pretty much knew when I had found the one when I saw his photos, which I loved, and learned that he was in my price range.  Meeting with him was just to make sure I was comfortable and felt like we would work well together.  I met with the other two because one was a bit less expensive, though I wasn’t into her style quite as much, and the other was very highly recommended and had some accolade that got me interested in her, but we didn’t click as much as I would have liked (though she was very nice) and she was a bit pricier than I could handle.

I contacted three to get prices and initial impressions…. and then talked to our top choice and booked her in that conversation. It’s not really what was recommended… but she fit our budget perfectly and we love her pictures, so I’m good with it. 🙂

I am a giant weirdo but 0. My mom picked for me haha. She’s pretty picky so I trusted her. We did an engagement session, liked him and booked him for our wedding. DH was in a wedding where the photog was a huge b*tch (her work was gooorgeous) and he just wanted to like the photog so that was really important to us.

I contacted 2 andvNancy was the only one who called me back.  We met and she brought along her book as well.  Our 30 min meeting turned into 2 friends hanging out after work.  I booked immediately.  What I also love is I have a photog for life.

We contacted a ton but actually met with 3.  We wanted to make sure we found a photographer whose style we liked and that we got along with.

I never met with any. I looked online and searched through blogs. Most I knew from a couple pictures if I liked them or not. I found one after searching through dozens of blogs and sites for the one that I liked. My photographer’s blogs usually show 50-80 images, so it gives you a good idea of what to expect. I booked him and signed the contract before I even met with him. The first time I met with him was at my engagement shoot. I am 100% confident with my photographer and I love his work.

I contacted many by email. We narrowed down our list and had a top 2. We met with both of them before making our decision.

I contacted maybe 10-15 by email and then talked to my number one choice on the phone, then hired them a few days later. I’m planning my wedding from 1200 miles away so meeting in person wasn’t an option. I originally planned on talking to several on the phone but there was one photographer who just blew the others away so I figured why waste everyone’s time.
