Two – Bed Bath and Beyond and Crate and Barrel.  We got everything off of our registry, and lots of gift cards as well!

We had BB&B, Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn (PB was the one with the least amount of stuff on it). Seems to me 4 is a bit excessive. If you want to add BB&B I’d ditch someone else. Like Target – unless you love the stuff you picked there, their return policy SUCKS. I would far recommend BB&B over Target. Their selection is much better and nicer, they let you return ANYthing they sell online or otherwise in the store for credit without a receipt, and they have a great completion program. 20% off your entire purchase when you go on a certain day, plus the 10% off coupons they give you for completion.

We did Macy’s, crate and barrel and amazon. We were going to just go Macy’s and amazon but I felt like I should have at least 2 stores you can physically go into and I was worried about older people and amazon. Hilarious, because the majority of our gifts were from crate and barrel! I think people think “nice wedding stuff” when they think of that store. I think you should choose 2 different stores if possible. Like kitcheny at one and other house stuff in another based on what you like. We did dishes/towels at Macy’s, kitchen stuff at amazon and house decor/glassware at crate and barrel.

I think more than 3 is weird and it’s nice to have more than one for convienience.

    We registered at 3:

Bed, Bath and Beyond:  They’re everywhere, and had a lot of the kitchen stuff I/we wanted.  I wish I could put something on our website about checking around for coupons, because I’m kind of a deal nut, but that’s just gift grabby.  Hopefully people can figure it out on their own.

Kohl’s:  Didn’t plan on registering here, but FI’s mom is a Kohl’s nut and it’s the closest store to both her and FI’s dad (and stepmom).   Between them, they already bought us about 1/3 of our Kohl’s registry for Christmas (super awesome of them!).  Plus, Kohl’s has some pretty nice registry registry rewards (you get 10% of what people spend in a gift card once your wedding’s over).

Amazon:  Because there were some things we couldn’t find at BBB or Kohl’s, and I’d heard horrendous things about Target’s registry (which was the original 3rd choice).  Plus, I only chose items that are sold through Amazon and ship for free with Prime or a $35 purchase.  Hoping it will be helpful for guests that are traveling and don’t want to haul stuff with them.

I feel like 3 might be a little much, but it’s alright.  We only registered for around 100 items between all of them.  Four is definitely too many, IMO.

We wanted to do just BB&B and Macy’s to cover our bases with my family so spread out throughout the US, but his mom really wanted us to register at Kohl’s for some reason. We did but it’s been a huge pain in the butt trying to keep stuff updated and making sure they actually note that things have been bought. BB&B and Macy’s have been smooth sailing.

@Skittles131:  You can get 20% off at BB&B at anytime if you have a coupon…they’re forever sending them out and they accept them expired.  So, the completion discount is the same discount everyone else gets, just a bit more convenient because you don’t need a physical coupon.

We did 3, Macy’s had the majority of things on it. Bloomingdale’s was just for our China and crystal since Macy’s didn’t carry it and the 3rd store (Pottery Barn) was for a handful of home decor items we liked.

We registered at Target and BBB. I was told from lots of people to keep it between 2-3 which was good advice because it wasn’t too many stores to make it complicated but it also gave our guests enough variety.
