We are having 130 guests – how many programs should we order? I think 1 for every guest would be overkill and I don’t want to wind up with 50 extra wedding programs!
How big was your wedding and how many programs did you order?

Ours were really cheap. Like $20 for 200. Since they were so cheap we decided to just get enough for everyone. We had a lot left over but I preferred that over someone not getting one that wanted one.

We ordered 40 and had 133 guests. Still had 3 left over. (One for me to keep!). Not everyone can make it to the ceremony unless its at the same locationas the reception.

i would order about 100.
my mom flipped over this issue and made me order 1 per person. such a waste…

@MrsBeck: where did you get your programs? That’s a fantastic deal!

my friend is printing them for me,
we are having 130 guests, so will probably print 130-150.

We had enough for 66% of guest who RSVPd yes, we had a ton left over – largely because a fair amount of people only came to the reception and not the ceremony.

Most couples will share. Alot of people don’t even bother. Do 60% of your total guest.

We ordered one for every person since they were placed on every chair. Overkill is right. It’s one of the few wedding decisions I would have reconsidered.

We had 160 rsvp yes to the wedding. I made 60 programs and had 30 left over! We had some people who didn’t come to the ceremony but the majority of people didn’t actually want them, or some looked at them and then left them in the pews.

TOTALLY agree with the four above! Don’t waste your money on too many!!!! Trust me!

We had 88 people total including the wedding party. We ordered 90 programs because we wanted to make sure we had an extra one or two to send to relatives and scrapbook (we had a theatre themed wedding and had complete playbills with ‘cast’ bios and fake ads and such, so it gave people something to read while waiting).
We ended up with about 15 or so leftover, but most of the wedding party didn’t get one and have asked us to mail them a copy to save.

@Sea_Ashley: Just as a thought, keep in mind the whole context. I had a fear of having 50 leftovers, so I ordered about half. Here’s the background:
-We had a church wedding, reception elsewhere.
-275 anticipated at the reception – not all will come to church
-I ordered 100 programs
didn’t consider that since it’s the church we BOTH grew up in, we had a ton of random friends of our parents, friends parents, people’s kids, etc. at the church. never crossed my mind. i’m not sure how fast the programs went, but the church was PACKED and my Mother-In-Law is now trying to find a leftover 🙂
Just another thing to consider!
