I think the general rule is that more than 3 starts to look gift-grabby, but I’ve known people to have as many as six. Most of my friends have done 2-3.  I personally have three: Carson’s (similar to a Macy’s but a little less pricey due to ridiculous constant sales), Target, and Amazon.com.  We are inviting close to 270 people and have a fair amount of international guests so I wanted to include something for everyone.

Three is fine, but I think target and BBB might be too similar. Have you considered crate & barrel? They have a lot of fun entertaining pieces that aren’t too expensive.

In theory it is nice for people to be able to compare prices between the two and purchase where things are cheaper, but not everyone will look at both registries and only buy things that you haven’t gotten on either…so you might end up with a lot of doubles.

We are registered at 3 places so I think 3 is fine. I just look as a guide to what we would like from here…here or here… I don’t expect to get it all, but it’s fun to put it all together.
