If I were you I’d probably make 65. Youd have extra for unexpected guests as well as a few to hold as keepsakes.

I agree families can share them.

I wouldn’t make more than 50, since that’s around the number you think you’ll have.  It will probably be way more than enough.  We made 75, for our 115 person wedding, and had a TON left over.  (Not left over as in laying around, but left over as in never even picked up.)  This was because pretty much none of the men took one, and the families shared between themselves.

@MrsNeutrino: Could you hold off on making them until you get most of your RSVPs?

If you have the layout/design ready, printing doesn’t take long.

It depends on how involved they are. If we’re talking front and back of a sheet of paper and folded into thirds I’d go ahead and make 100 just to be on the safe side and recycle the leftovers.

If, on the other hand, it’s an elaborate, hand-bound booklet or features some sort of expensive paper or time-consuming embellishments, I’d split the difference and make 75.

Either way, I’d hold off until closer to the wedding date as these are usually last-minute projects anyway.

Don’t print your programs until the week or two before. You can plan them out before hand, but you might have some last minute changes. For instance, my BIL couldn’t be an usher because his Dad died the week before and missed the wedding.

I made an elaborate cover many weeks before hand (lots of punching and cutting and glueing). But printed the inserts a few days prior. Then my Mom used ribbon to tie insides to the cover the day before.

I made 1/2 the expected attendance +10 (for my scrapbook, etc). And we still had lots left over.
