I think you can have as many as you want! But remember that people don’t like long ceremonies so try and keep the total ceremony time down.

Yeah, just one duet sung by my sister/MOH and a Groomsmen during the sand ceremony.  I think the most I’ve seen is maybe 2– a solo and a hymn with everyone.

We didn’t have any!  We just had our musicians play an instrumental piece during our knot tying ceremony (instead of sand/candles).

Do whatever you want!  I think not having songs did keep our ceremony short, which was what we were going for anything.

We’re having instrumental music (a string quartet) instead of a vocalist. So zero.

None, and my husband, myself and my sister (MOH) all went to university for music!  In fact, my sister and I both went for vocal music.  We had so many things we wanted to put into the ceremony, and I didn’t want to add anything more.  My husband and I sang a duet at the reception.  I’ve been to several weddings and only one had a song during the ceremony – and I was the singer.  I wouldn’t put in more than one, I think it will be too much to sit through.

What song are you thinking of having?

We’re having 1 song during our ceremony. My brother and my Maid/Matron of Honor will be singing “The Prayer” as sung by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. I believe the last wedding I went to had 1 song as well. It does get too long if you have too many things going on. We actually just decided to nix a reading because it just seems like our ceremony is soooo long!

I am having a hard time deciding. I really want three people to sing. I was thinking I would have them each do one, between the two readings, during the unity tree and the processional but is that too many? My sister, the Maid/Matron of Honor keeps telling me to think of the guests POV and my friend, a bridesmaid says she thinks it would be easier if they each do one on their own since they will not get to practice together until the morning of the wedding and maybe a little at the rehearsal. If you think about it, catholic ceremonies have at least three, if not more songs sung. I hate instrumentals and we have three talented singers in our bridal party.

Maybe I should just have on sing the processional, one sing during the unity tree and one sing the reccessional?
