In the same boat… building a new house and it feels like it’s taking forever!! It will be about 3300 sq ft finished, about that much unfinished.

1800 sq ft. 4 bd 1.5 bath tri level. Our new home will hopefully be closer to 2000 with a better layout!

swonderful:  A 2 bedroom?? How!? We have a 623 sq ft condo with one bedroom and it seems so small!

3000 sq ft. with an extra 300 unfinished “room” that can either be 2nd floor door access attic or another bedroom/bathroom. However, the room has a slanted ceiling for about 1/2 the space. Since it is JUST DH and myself, we left it attic space. However, we’re considering making it a 2nd master suite in the future (it is right next to the largest upstairs bedroom) as homes with 2 master suites in our area really seems to be a hot resale point (lots of multigenerations living together I think).

Right now we have 4 bedrooms, a large upstairs loft/living space that can be closed off to make a 5th bedroom, 2 3/4 bathrooms (one bathroom only has shower/sink/toilet, no tub), 2 car garage, with the “3rd car” spot converted to a workshed (my painting/design studio).

My house now is approx 2400 sq ft.  My FH’s home is 4500 sq ft.  We are looking at new homes in the 6500-7500 sq ft range which includes a finished basement.  My FH wants my Mom to live with us and we want space for the little ones as well as guest quarters.

The house I own is over 2400 sq ft.

But we are students and live an hour and a half away from it. We are in an apartment that’s about 1000 sq ft. I cannot wait to be out of this tiny apartment and in a house when we graduate. Hopefully we will be in a house by this time next year!

The house we are renting is ~2400sqft 4 bed, 3.5 bath. But our lease comes up in Feb and we’re looking for a ~2500-3000sqft house. I’d be fine with a smaller house if the layout makes sense, or for a bigger yard. Luckily the house market in Phoenix is a buyer’s dream right now.
