Sparkidoodle:  I never speed in playground & school zones, and those are 30 klicks, so just a little over 18 mph.

I’ve been pulled over twice.

Once for speeding which was deserved. The speed limit was 65 and I was going about 75 or maybe pushing 80.

The other time, I got pulled over for HOLDING my cell phone! I was not even talking on my phone but rather I was just driving and spacing out and sorta just twirling my phone around with my other hand. Stupid, yes. I know. I tried to tell the cop that I was not talking on the phone by showing him my calls list (in California talking on your cellphone while driving is illegal) and I have BlueTooth so if I was going to talk on the phone, I would just turn on my Blue Tooth. But it didn’t matter. He gave me a ticket for $160 for literally holding my phone. Oh well.

oishiioishii:  He may as well have given yo ua ticket for holding a cup or something… You probably could have had it thrown out, but who has the time to deal with that?

CorvusCorax:  Exactly. I guess I could have fought him in court but what’s the point. I even joked with him that I could try to fight it in court and just pray he doesn’t show up.

Dumbest $160 I’ve spent.

beetee123:  Ah, mine don’t come on automatically. But, of course, the streetlights do! Outside my in-laws house in London, there’s so much ambient light that it isn’t so much darker than the day time. Obviously I’d remember to put on lights if I was outside my own house, but I always have to remind myself when I’m over at their place!
