So for all those hopeful waiting bees out there, How many times have you truly believed that a specific date would be ‘the date’ for the proposal? How many times have you been ‘lead on’ by hints that all pointed to a date, and been wrong, and ultimately, disappointed?

I have lost count! No, I would say about 6 or 7 times. Now I am just fed up!
Hope it’s not too long for you.

about twice now- so I have put the actual day out of my head. He will do it when he is ready.

Twice before, our anniversary in December and this past Christmas season. The third is probably coming up here at the end of the month. We’re going away for our Valentines celebration for the weekend a bit early.

None. Three times my head knew he wasn’t going to propose but my heart thought it was a “perfect time” to do it. So I wasn’t lead on or hinted by him, but I personally had a teeeeny little flame of hope that it might happen anyway!

I ask because my boyfriend flat out told me a specific date 3 months from now that would be ‘it.’ But from a finacial standpoint, it may not happen now. Wondering if I should still keep hope alive for April?

Once, when I thought my 28th birthday would be perfect, but I thought that up. I’ve only gotten hints once and that was recently. If it doesn’t happen then, I doubt I’ll be disappointed because that day isn’t something we really go all out for anyway…but if he did do it that day, it’d surprise the hell out of me because of that reason.LOL

I know some bees have mentioned their guys say certain things to throw them off and keep the proposal a surprise. Is it possible that’s what he’s doing? Could he be saying that finances make it unlikely but maybe he’s got a secret ring fund you don’t know about? There’s always a chance it still happens, but if a valid surprise bill came up (medical, car, etc.) maybe give him a little extra time?

There were two dates I thought were going to be the big day.
1)our trip to Jamaica in March of 2009. Would’ve been perfect!
2)My 40th birthday, March 2009 again. But…not so perfect b/c I actually had the stomach flu on that day.
The actual date was Dec. 5, 2009 and it WAS PERFECT!
Don’t get down. Having wonderful days and memories is part of your love story! It will happen when the time is right.

Hah, I have a neice named Taylor, had to throw that out there. Sadly, I seriously doubt thats the case, as we are both full time college students and he gets his cash flow by doing contracting work for his parents. The CZ ring is about $700, which is crazy, but my own jewlwer is giving roughly the same price so I guess it is what it is. I really am enjoying what we currently have, but we talk about it so often cause we both know it’s meant to happen soon..but it’s making it less special at the same time. :/
