I know everyone is different. I have been using the FAM as BC for a year and a half now. My cycles are pretty much clockwork and temp as well as OPK’s detect ovulation. My fluid tests have not always been consistent, but my OB says I am likely still ovulating. I know the exact days I ovulate and know to BD starting six days before.
I have just always had this fear that when we start trying it won’t happen. I am not sure why, maybe because a lot of fiends I see that happen to? I live in So Cal so people don’t start having kids here usually until age 30, which is what I am this year. I am scared that I will be one of those people that just can’t figure out why we can’t get pregnant.
I have also heard many times that being relaxed helps! I get it! But that just doesn’t help me haha. We plan on starting to try in December and because of my husband’s job we would have to stop after five cycles and pause for three months so the baby is not born during tax season.
TL:DR – If you knew your exact day of ovulation before trying, how long did it take you to get pregnant?

1st cycle for us- I am also 30 years old, I was somewhat suprised, but very happily!

First cycle for us. I had Mirena removed in November and then tracked my cycles with temping and OpK for 6 months so i knew exactly when I ovulated.

28 cycles and counting… Still not pregnant

runnergirl4204 : I still do not have a “take home baby” but charted for 6ish months prior to TTC. We got pregnant on cycle #6, which ended in an early MC. Again during IUI #3 (cycle #16). I’m currently on cycle #29 (my cycles are short when unmedicated, but have been “average” during all IUI and IVF retrievals).

We started charting as part of marrimage prep class before we were married.
It took 1 cycle. But it was actually one of those not trying/not avoiding. I thought it was count back 2 months, add 7 days so I thought my due date would be May. We BD 4 days before ovulation and it took; did not anticipate that! Oops…due date is April (I teach at a college).
I’m 34 years old and didn’t think I’d get pregnant that quick. Bc like you OP my cycle is regular but so many people I know have problems.

runnergirl4204 : one for us too, I used opks and I am assuming I ovulated after my 2 smiley face days. We BDed whenever we felt like it/could and happened to be around that time. 🙂
Don’t stress yet, no point worrying about something that might not even be a problem! Enjoy yourself and try relax xx

runnergirl4204 : ignore people who tell you to “just relax” – they suck. I have relaxed, followed my cycles, and nearly 2 years and one failed IUI later we are starting IVF. My ability to relax won’t fix my husband’s sperm issues.

runnergirl4204 : Pregnant on the second month, but I miscarried. Pregnant that cycle, technically our third month trying, but four from when we started.

Loving all these repliies. It’s kind of interesting it seems like very little middle ground? Maybe just this pool of responses seems that way. And those who have waited so long I want to give you hugs! I can’t imagine the struggle.

runnergirl4204 : here’s a middle ground response: 4 cycles, I was 31 and then turned 32.

runnergirl4204 : One of the main reasons I left public accounting was because I was tired of scheduling my life around busy season! This is our first cycle officially trying. I got off BC in February but still used condoms until last cycle. I figured that would be our trial run plus it would be fun to conceive while vacationing in Italy. Well AF arrived yesterday so I’m officially CD2. I’d really like a May baby because summers are unbearable in the south so I’m really hoping 1 cycle does this trick!
