How many venues did you see in person?

About 8? I was pretty unsure of the exact vibe and facilities we wanted/needed, but ironically we ended up booking the first one I went to! My partner just came to the two I had shortlisted and he made the final decision (I wanted the other one lol)

I seem to be a bit of an outlier as we went to 10. It was all open evenings until we went back to 10 with an appointment. Either of the last 2 would have worked for me but I just loved the 10th. If you’re going to be wondering “what if”, I’d go see it. The venue is the biggest expense so you need to be sure!

I saw two in person specifically for the wedding but there were three “in the running”. The third had been a venue for a family event, I think a big birthday previously and I didn’t love it so I booked visits to the other two. The first, the event manager/owner rubbed me the wrong way and wasn’t very accommodating. At the second, the owner/event manager was practically my spirit animal and totally understood my vision. So we booked the second one. Hubby hadn’t even seen it, my mother was with me and he jsut knew where to show up when! Haha! He didn’t mind one way or the other where it was so left the choice up to me.

We just visited one and decided at the end of the visit that the mansion was the perfect venue! I had contacted another venue before the visit, but they never got back to me.

I was a Destination Wedding bride, we visited 6 resorts and chose out of those. So glad I did because the one that I thought was “the one” on paper turned out to be a hell no, run for the hills place lol

Just the one 🙂 I knew for several years it’s where I wanted to have my reception. For the ceremony, it’s my childhood church, so that was easy. It was nice that my fiance didn’t care about locations. XD

We’ve seen one so far, but we have 4 appointments today and a couple for this weekend. I like to see the space in person for a multitiude of reasons (I don’t want the bar in another room, I like to see the outdoor space, get the vibe of the room, make sure the location is nice, plenty of bathrooms, etc.). I just couldn’t get that stuff from pictures, so I am going to see any of the ones in our budget!

I emailed 50 places or so lol. We made a special trip (dw) and looked at maybe 10. THe one we loved only had 2 dates left, so we pretty much decided on our way back and booked it when we got home.

I contacted four or five, and we automatically elimated two of them because of price. We then visited two in person and the second one was perfect!

missrouse :  About three and we booked the fourth but I called a bunch ahead of time. I was able to remove venues just by calling to see if they could accommodate my food allergies and a lot were not able to so off the list they went!

Just kidding I’m forgetting a bunch I think we visited 5-6 actually.

We’ve looked at 6 so far & haven’t liked any of them.

We have appointments to see 7 more. Hopefully one of them suits us haha.

I know that we are being picky, but it’s going to be the most expensive day of our lives.. we want it to feel right.

one an done.

But i had done a lot of research online, emailed venues, looked up guest pics, lay outs, reviews etc. Looked at both local and destination and after several months i still wanted to see my number 1 pick.

We went on a trip and i checked out my favorite ceremony and reception spot. Put the deposit down the next week.
