I have only been to one.
My sister and her boyfriend decided to get married, and like a month later, they were married. It was a real wedding, of course, but did not have a hired photographer, a rented reception venue, a florist, centerpieces, etc.– basically all the things that take months to plan.
So when I started planning my wedding, I was going off what I had seen in movies– lol! I have learned quite a lot, thanks to the ‘Bee.
How many weddings have you been to (not counting your own)?

My Fiance had never been to a wedding besides his parents at two so when we first were engaged all his ideas were like a movie too!

I remember going to four. One I was about eight but I was the flower girl in my aunt’s wedding. Then my fiance took me to two different cousin’s weddings. Then we went to his brother’s wedding although it was very small and just a ceremony on the beach followed by some food at the beach house. I’ve learned quite a bit here too especially since most people I know just went the elopement package route or aren’t married yet and have no idea where to begin either with some of the things I’m planning (and mine isn’t super traditional either – ceremony then restaurant dinner reception).

Even at my age, I’ve been to a total of 6 weddings in my life (and I’ve never been a part of one either).

I was actually thinking about something similar to this the other day…i was thinking how many people i know that have gotten married over the past year (not necessarily that i was invited just people i know from hs or college) and it was at least 24 people! lol I guess there really is an age when everyone starts marrying off!

I have like 15 cousins, and like all of them are married!

It seems that in the last year all our friends are getting married!! In 2010 I will have gone to 7 (not counting the 3 additional ones we couldn’t make).
Prior to this this I had gone to 1 (also not counting the 1 that [years ago] got called off night before). We also have 3 coming up in spring 2011.

I went to SEVEN weddings in one summer…guh..it was a long summer (and expensive!!!) I average about two a summer! 🙂

I’ve been to 7 and had to decline invitations to 3 others over the years. Of the 7 I’ve been to, I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in two and a guest book attendent in another.

I have been in 3 and I have been to at least 3 and I have a ton more within the next 2 years. I love weddings and they are so exciting!

I have only been to 2. One for a former boss & one for my cousin. Although, kids (even though I was almost 16 @ the time) were only allowed @ the ceremony & the last 2 hours of the reception @ my cousins wedding; I don’t remember much of that evening.
I definitely did not even know where to start w/ the planning. I desperately wish I’d have found WB waaaaay before now.

Two…both of my parents remarried. I was five and eleven. lol my ideas about weddings were pretty much off of tv and movies too.

omg, you need another option on your pole that says 20+… we have been to SO MANY!!! I was so glad to be near the tail end of all the weddings (began in 2004, reached a peak in 2007, and now there are only a few couples left) because i learned so so much from our friends mistakes and successes. For example, we knew who our photographer and band would be long before we even got engaged!

I’ve been to lots of weddings. It seems like there is a wedding or two here and there. Then there are 3-5 weddings within a year. Then it goes back to a few weddings here and there. Now there have been so many weddings lately. It is like a cycle for my family and friends.
