(Closed) How many weeks of maternity leave do you get??

I’ll be taking of 8 weeks, all of which will be unpaid. I have a week of vacation that I might save until then, but even then, it will just be a week.  

Anyone else feel like their job will fall apart when they leave? I’m super worried about coming back to an enormous mess!

I’m most likely taking 12 weeks off, but its all unpaid. 🙁

I get to use any vacation/sick time I have available (right now I have about 6 weeks) at full salary and then can take extra time at 60% of my salary (covered by short or long term disability). I can also enact FMLA if I want, but that time would be completely unpaid. I imagine I’ll end up taking about 12 weeks off total when the time comes.

52 weeks – 12 weeks at full pay, 14 weeks at 50%, 13 weeks at 15% and 13 weeks unpaid.  I will also earn 5 weeks of paid vacation leave while I am on maternity leave and most people add that to the end of their maternity leave. 

I feel sad that so many of us have so little leave / paid leave.  Hopefully you all pay a lot less tax overall so that this isn’t quite as bad as it seems!

I work as a contractor in a state prison. I will have:

-7 weeks of short term disability at 60% pay

-Ability to use vacation, sick, personal time.  Right now TTC and have 10 days vacation and 1 personal day left.  In July I will have 20 days vacation and 2 personal days (sick days are accrued at 1 per month, so in August I will have 2, September 3…)

-1 year of FLMA/unpaid, so my job is saved….wouldn’t surprise me if I moved to the much less desirable ‘other’ position at work when I came back.

So the plan is to be home w/ baby for 3 months/12 weeks; 7 at 60% and 4 at 100% pay in vacation/personal/sick and possibly 1 week unpaid.  We will need to save up for this a bit.

Although the company I work for has about 75 employees (I think) the program I work for is small just 4 full-time employees and a FT manager.  If one person is out for a week it’s a clusterfuck, so I am partly dreading hearing the boss complain about me taking off for so long esp. since my co-worker took exactly 7 weeks and w/o me being at work they will need to either temporarily hire someone else or the boss will need to pull an addition 16 hours from the other 3 employees.  Part of me really hopes I will not need to return to this job for long since I have a side job that hopefully will be taking off in 6 weeks.
