I didn’t hear mine with the doppler until our 12 week appointment.  My doctor has an ultrasound machine in her office, so she showed us the heartbeat flicker on that at our 8 week appointment, but it wasn’t until the 12 weeks that we actually heard it.

Just (literally) got off the phone with the Dr.  They won’t even see me for an initial appointment until 8-10 weeks.  They assured me that is just for an introductory appointment (no ultra sound, no checking heartbeat) b/c Darling Husband would for sure want to be there for those things. I made that appointment for May 16th.  From there I’ll schedule me an ultrasound, but looking like 12 or so weeks.  This is our first so that just seems so long without any “true” confirmation that there’s even a heart still beating in there! 🙁

I believe it was at 12 or 13 weeks with the doppler we first heard it @ 6 weeks but it was with a intrauteran U/S

I think I was like 13 or 14 weeks?  I went in at 10 1/2 and my doctor said it’s sometimes hard to find that early with the doppler so she just did a quick u/s and we got to see/hear it, plus it was Christmas Eve so she said the u/s would a little Christmas present for us since we weren’t expecting to get one that day 🙂

Although we didn’t try to use one any sooner,  we first heard the heartbeat with a doppler at 12 weeks and 1 day at my appointment. It was pretty clear. My Mother-In-Law bought us a doppler after that and we have been using it once or twice a week since then. I’m 16 weeks today.

I was able to hear the heartbeat at 6 weeks with a transvaginal ultrasound in my doctor’s office, however.

My doctor tried when I was exactly 10 weeks.  She cautioned me it would be hard to hear.  She was able to get it audible for a second but by the time she explained to me what to listen to she had lost it.  I was at least glad that she was able to hear it even if I didn’t since it’s some reassurance that the baby is still beating strong inside me 🙂

It was around 14 weeks. We got to see the heartbeat on an ultrasound before actually hearing it with the doppler.

We saw it for the first time on the ultrasound at 9 weeks.  We heard it on the 13 week ultrasound as well as with the doppler.

We saw the heartbeat for the first time around 8 weeks on ultrasound.

We were able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler at my OB’s office when I was 9 weeks 5 days. I was surprised because I have a tilted uterus which can make it harder to hear earlier, but she found the heartbeat right away.

I haven’t had my first appt yet but am interested to see these answers as I’m super anxious to hear/see a heartbeat!

Did all of your DHs or SOs go with to all your appointments? I want my hubby to come with but just wondering what people usually do…

I SAW the HB on u/s at  6weeks. I was able to hear it on my home doppler at 9 weeks 5 days but it was super hard and took alot of patience to find it.

Normally they wont try until 10-12 weeks.

@lalalalauren:  I’m almost 26 weeks, and my husband has come with me to my ultrasound appointments. My other appointments I don’t see a need for him to come with me and take time off work, as they’re super quick and they just check my weight, blood pressure, have me pee in a cup, and check the heartbeat.
