Not too much at this moment.

We picked the date!!! That was a big one.

I’ve asked my two Maid/Matron of Honor if they would be in my bridal party, so that’s done. (I’m not having any other Bridesmaid or Best Man as my fiancee doesn’t have too many friends, and I have TONS I’d love to ask, but I don’t want it to be too lopsided).

I’ve started looking at dresses, but gonna wait to see what there is.

I’ve started looking into venues (they are super expensive in Austin!). We could get married in my church for free, but the fellowship hall is just tacky and I don’t know what we would do for parking. So I’m looking into other options.

I’ve started looking into invites, music, decorations, flowers, that kind of thing.

Oh, and we’ve talked about the guest list, so that’s somewhat helpful (I have an exact number for my guests, and he only has an estimate at the moment).

Thank goodness we have plenty of time.

We have a date!!!!! Haha. And ceremony site, a florist, a graphic designer, 3 bridesmaids, and an officiant. And a few people who have agreed to be ceremony musicians (I’ve played horn for 9 years, so I know a LOT of musicians lol).

Friendors = the bomb diggity.

I got a LOT done right at the beginning (before my rotations started):

-Church booked & we’ve had 1 meeting with our priest

-Reception Venue booked & catering picked out

-Photographer booked

-Met with 1 florist (who will probably end up being “the one” – but we know what we want for flowers now regardless)

-all 7 Bridesmaid or Best Man & Groomsmen and our junior Bridesmaid or Best Man & Groomsmen have been asked

-Started working on invites & STD envelopes (for our magnets)

-Videographer picked out… just not booked yet

I’ve also made a ton of stuff (like gifts for the BMs, garter, etc.)… but I’m kind of on stand-still at the moment because of school. I can’t seem to get off of Wedding Bee though 🙂

Wow you bee are on the ball!!! I was proud of myself for hiring a wedding coordinator and picking the venue.  I figured out after speding 6 months looking at venues that I really like to explore all of my options so this long engagement is perfect for me.  I’m finally ready to start meeting with photographers because I realized that to get winter engagement shots I need to book and start my serious diet asap.

Ok, update on progress!

We have a venue now, photographers, and STDs!!! (I won the Momental Designs Save the Date contest on Weddingbee earlier this year, and they are super amazing!)

We meet with a DJ in about a week, and a Caterer in about 3 weeks. I’m back to the drawing board on my dress, but I have time to figure it out. I’ve also started on some of the origami flowers for our bouquets and centerpieces, and my guy is going to be crocheting some flowers (and possibly some hedgehogs?!?!?!) for the tables as well.

So things are rolling along. It should be noted that I am trying to get everything done as soon as possibly because I’m not sure what next year will hold for me time wise.

Hope everyone is doing well!!! Go December 2012 brides!!!

We recently moved our wedding from September 2012 to December 2012. We are getting married in St Thomas USVI and wanted to get out of hurricane season. Currently we have the ceremony and reception booked and ordered our save the dates yesterday! Have any of you guys started dress shopping yet? 🙂

@MrsWilson2012:  I already bought my dress, a few weeks back.  Summers made shopping easier and I have been trying to spread the spending where I can.  Buying whatever I can early since next year so much money will be spent.  I won’t see my dress until next august.

Here’s what we have so far:

– Church and reception venue booked (reception is in a restaurant so won’t need separate catering)

– Photographer booked

– My wedding ring has been bought

– Bridesmaids/MOH have been asked

– Have started dress shopping and am almost ready to say yes to the dress

– Have started thinking about colors and the theme + at the same time searching for STDs/invites. I’m not really into crafts/DIY, so will order invites etc. We have decided on silver and white, but still need a third color. We are doing a wintery theme so blue would be the obvious choice, but I personally dislike blue so would like to have something else instead… ideas? I was thinking red or burgundy, but is it too christmasy?

The next thing on my list is looking into booking a band for the wedding. I just went to a friend’s wedding and they had an amazing band, so we might consider the same band for our wedding.

Update: I have ordered my dress! Smile And we’ve also pretty much decided on a burgundy/wine color for the bridesmaids’ dresses and have started looking at different styles.
