I am trying to decide btwn having bulap runners or kraft paper runners. We will have 6ft tables and about 22 tables (rectangle). Any estimates on what burlap runners will cost me? I know kraft paper will be considerably cheapers, but aren’t sellable 😉 afterwards…

If you check out saveoncrafts.com you can buy spools of burlap for pretty cheap and could stencil & paint it yourself 🙂

It does cost more to buy or make burlap runners, but they are two different looks.
-do a search here on WeddingBee to find the less expensive sources for fabric. I’m not sure if the pp was referring to table runners or floor runners, but most table runners I have seen are not painted or stencilled, although anything is possible.
– there are tutorials both here and on other online sites.
-check out http://www.recycledbride.com
– check Craigslist- you can check all the Craigslist sites at the same time by going to http://www.google.com then enter site:craigslist.com
then add what you are looking for,in this case, burlap runners
Here is that search for current listings:

I am making my own and bought 20 yards of burlap at Joanns for about $50. That will give me enough to make at least 8 runners and a crazy tablecloth I am making

I made my own. I bought 30 yards of this fabric, which, if I remember correctly, was wide enough to make 2 runners from 3 yards: http://www.onlinefabricstore.net/burlap/40-inch-7-oz-natural-burlap-.htm?TID=c1ecabcae3554a6a96c56b7dd6672fb3. So 30 yards was enough to make 10 108″ runners, 6 40″ runners (for the cocktail and smaller tables), and we had a ton extra to drape behind the sweetheart table. It was actually pretty easy to make it all too. I think it took like 2 days to cut it and hem the edges with my sewing machine.
Edit to add: Shipping for the 30 yards of fabric was less than $10, so I think I spent a total of $45 on 30 yards of fabric. It was a better deal than I could find anywhere else, so you should check it out!

Ultra Pom rents them out for 2-5$ also! the bonus is that you dont have a bunch of left over burlap after your wedding day 🙂

Just be careful with buying your own burlap! I had originally thought of using burlap, but most burlap that I found was really cheap looking. I actually went to a wedding where the bride used it as well, and all of the ends were fraying. It looked terrible. Good luck though, I love the look of burlap!

Burlap runners were SUCH a perfect addition to my wedding. We did everything really neutral but incorporated texture. My mother and I searched everywhere and thought about so many different options before settling on these runners attached. They weren’t actually burlap – because burlap is stinky! And no one wants the stink of burlap next to their food when they’re eating. These were store bought – but my mom tweaked them accordingly to the table sizes. These were for 60″ rounds…
I have at least 10 for sale… $10 each if you’re interested! Message me 🙂
