    @ArtDecoDC:  This is exactly how I felt. He paid a lot for my e-ring so he can get whatever wedding ring he wants, he hopefully should be wearing it every day until the end of time…and he liked fairly plain platinum bands…but my ring was more expensive than his since it’s a platinum and diamond full eternity. So after I saw the price tag on my wedding band, I really couldn’t begrudge him the ring he wanted, not that I would, haha. He also has a cheap $20 stand in ring that he wore on our Hawaii honeymoon where we surfed etc (I have a stand in too) and our rings are all insured, so I’m not worried about him losing it etc (my dad is on his 5th wedding ring, he just keeps buying the same ring w/ insurance money every time he loses it haha)

    @ArtDecoDC:  +1.

    DH ended up with a white gold band, and it was approx. $1200. But since he spent so much on my ring, I wasn’t going to complain.

    Fiance and I chatted about what he wanted and he said no yellow gold and a fairly thick band. I wanted a visual, so on a whim I went on the tiffany website. Just browsing through I found the Metropolis ring. I showed him and he LOVES it. The ring with tax cost me about $370 + $40 for engraving. I wish I could’ve spent more because of the cost of my e-ring and band. But its what he loves so that’s all that matters.

    Apparently Tiffany has discontinued the ring, and now they are just selling off whatever is in stock, so I’m gald I bought it when I did!

    Here’s the link to it: http://www.tiffany.ca/Shopping/Item.aspx?sku=GRP00080

    Fiance wanted a fairly classic yellow gold band. He has pretty big hands too which means more gold. The size 14 ring ran us around 1500. Gold is expensive and he spent a lot more than that on mine, so I don’t mind much.

    @jesssamesssa:  I tried to pick out something fancier, but my Fiance found a ring he liked that cost $79.99 no tax or shipping.

    DH is big into working on our cars and various other “manly” chores. I once got him a gold ring andhe beat it up to beyond recognition. Gold, silver and platinum were all too soft for his lifestyle and would be destroyed in a matter of months. This was why he decided to go with tungsten. He did want some bling so we splurged for the diamond and tungsten option. Total cost was $200.

    FI’s was $275 on sale, originally $550.  It’s tungsten with a brushed center, nothing fancy but suits Fiance I think. He loves it!

    @jesssamesssa:  I am trying to remember the issues with tungsten. It’s either hard to resize, they break easily, or something. We did look at those, but Fiance didn’t like them. He has 2 rings, one for work and one for everything else. The work ring was about $600 and the everyday ring was $1200. He really loves them and it’s a fraction of what he spent on mine, lol.

    I’m going to get whatever Fiance wants me to get. I’m planning on a Verragio set for myself, and he really likes the Verragio mens bands, so I may get him one to match my ring.

    If not, then I’ll definitely be getting tungsten. His man-gagement ring is tungsten and it doesn’t have even the faintest of scratches on it!

    @BoxerLady:  It’s hard to resize. They don’t break easily at all, but you cannot resize them. Only thing you can do is get the ring guard put in it.

    We spent a lot of money on FI’s ring. He wanted something very traditional, solid and heavy in 18 carat yellow gold… it ended up costing us £450, which I think is about $670 USD!

    To put that in perspective, my ring cost just over a third of that. Plus he’s not even sure if he wants to wear a wedding ring! Expensive tastes…

    I’m getting my Fiance 2 rings. one with 1 tcw of diamonds in a white gold band $1100.00 (custom made) and one tungsten $50 max.  He’s worried about damaging the diamond one at work.

    DH has 4 rings, but that’s because we bought them at different times, and he wears them at different times. Total, all 4 rings cost $110.00. All four are tungsten, one is a LOTR band (with elvish script, just like the One Ring), one has celtic knots, one has a dragon-shaped inscription, and the other has more plain celtic knots. 😀

    Around $500 total, but he’s getting two rings. One will be a tungsten that runs about $50-$90 dollars [for work], and the other will be his actual ring, which will match mine [diamonds & white gold].

    We will honestly pay however much the ring that my Fiance want costs.  We haven’t shopped for band yet, but I’m not too worried.  He isn’t very blingy or flashy, so I know he doesn’t want any sort of stones in his band.  I don’t think he’s a huge fan of platinum either.  I don’t imagine we’ll spend more than $300-500 on his band, and I would bet a hundred bucks we stay closer to $300 (or below).
