We were able to rent little 6 inch globe lights for $10 a 50 foot strand! We had an outdoor wedding and techincally these were “tent lights” but they looked good! Worth a try if you have some helpful groomsmen!

I think our uplighting quote is currently at about $600, but I think we’re only using about 10-12 lights. We aren’t trying to go overboard with the uplighting – it would take away from the uniqueness of our venue. We just want a pop of color in the dining area. The same company also quoted us $499 to do a starry nigth pattern on our ceiling. We haven’t decided if we want to do that or not.
Our venue provides chinese lanterns over the dance floor, already included in our per person count, so that cut down on our lighting bill a bit. Plus, since we are using the same company for lighting, DJ and photobooth, they are throwing in a free lighting pattern on our dance floor. Oh, and their DJ table is actually white acrylic with lighting, so that’ll provide the fun factor from the DJ loft, as well. I feel like we kind of lucked out with lighting!
