My budget was $1000 and my dress came in at $988 before taxes and alterations. Not too bad!

My budget that I had set for my dress was $2500.  I found THE dress and it would have been $1700 after tax.  I didn’t buy it that day though because I had gone home to look at things (Maryland), but wanted to buy it where I lived (Michigan).  I went home and searched it online and found a sample gown in my size for $800 flat, so I bought it!!

ETA:  Haven’t done alterations yet, but they’re going to come in around 200.  So $1000 total including alterations.

My family were very generous and bought my gown. I wasn’t budgetless but was able to go up to $10,000

@soinlove79:  When I started dress shopping, I had a budget of $1500. Then I found “The Dress”. The price tag was $2095. After taxes it came out to $2400. I only get to do this once.

Good thing is alterations were free.

I paid $500 for my dress alterations were $250 which is way more than I wanted to spend since I’m only wearing it for 1 day. My mom offered to buy any dress but I just can’t spend that kind of money even somebody else’s money.

I bought two dresses (had one made, then had dress regret so purchased another). Both dresses cost less than $500. So overall I spent just under $1k.

Deciding between two, the more expensive would be under $6000, less expensive would be under $5,000, maybe closer to $4,000. If I wasn’t getting something completely unusual, I’d probably have capped myself at $3,500 since I’m keeping it simple.

My budget was $1000, but I ended up finding my dream dress for only $180. It was originally $1000, but was being discontinued. So I got it for a steal!

my dress was 450. another 80 bucks for the bustle. it was a sample dress, and thats fine by me. even this price i see as being ridiculous. i cant really justify paying any more than that just to wear it for a few hours, never to be seen again…

I refuse to spend more than $1,000 on a dress I’ll wear once, including alterations. I know I’ll have my work cut out for me, but hey, I love a good hunt. 😉
