My hairstylist will be doing my makeup for my wedding. She charging $35 for my bridal session. However, on the day of my wedding she charges $40 due to traveling costs. However, if you’re handy with makeup, you can do it yourself and save the money. It will be chaotic where I am getting ready at so I rather someone handle the details for me. =)

I lucked out – my hair/makeup artist only charged me $75 for everything, and that included my trial and hair/makeup on the wedding day. And she did an amazing job to boot!

@Michelleivy: Wow, that is quite the price increase! Perhaps her business has grown a lot in the past year and a half? I feel like that’s the most reasonable explanation. I know our photographer used to be much more affordable, but then he got really good, won a bunch of awards, grew his business, and of course, raised his prices. But we loved his work so much that it was worth it to splurge. So glad we did – our amazing photos are worth every penny!

I belive my stylist is charging me $150 for hair and make up, this includes a trial.  He’s been my stylist for years and I wouldn’t have anyone else do it.

Mine is $90 and a trial is $60, but I’m not doing a trial. This is at a salon. If I had wanted it done onsite, I would’ve paid twice that or more. At the MAC counter, I think it’s $60 or $70 (but paid through the purchase of product with the application free).

WOW! How did you find someone so cheap? I have my hair and makeup artists from my boudoir shoot, and they were FABULOUS. I have two days of hair/makeup at $350 (two days because we’re breaking up the wedding and reception). They’re amazing at what they do, which means a lot to me. This price is a LOT cheaper than other artists in my city – Sacramento, CA.

My hair and make up artist is charging me $125 for hair, and $85 for air brush make up. She also charges a $60 travel fee, but because she is close to where I will be she may waive the fee. She also includes a free consultation.

I’m doing my own.  But, its ending up costing me a fortune! The only thing in life I’m a control freak over is makeup and right now (even though its over 9 months away) is finding all the PERFECT shades and formulas.  I’m way over-thinking it.  I’ve spend close to $100 on lipsticks alone.  Sometimes I wish I could just give up, pay someone $100 bucks day-of and take what I get….but I can’t do it :/

Yeah, all the quotes I got were pricy. I think I’m going to end up being $125 for makeup. My Future Mother-In-Law might have gotten us a steal on the hair though, with her stylist, ~$200 for the day (split 4/5 ways). Have to see how the trial goes, though.

$600 for my four bms, three mothers, and myself–that was a hookup, lol. I love my MUA, he’s an old colleague and an amazing artist. Me being an artist myself, I’m pretty picky.

Edit: 75/per face, including the bride (which could have been upward of $150 or more). He is doing airbrush, stacking lashes (they will still look natural :)), and traveling to my “get ready” location.
