We are in Boston so everything is a lot more expensive. Our package is $3,100 for 13 hours of coverage and 5 packages all in HD.

Yeah that is pretty much around the cost of a videographer! I was LUCKY and found a co. that has 2 videographers w/a full day of coverage HD included for 950.00, but I swormed the internet and he is amazing!!! IF you just keep looking there are always those hidden gems that are amazingly GREAT

We are looking too. The only place we found that was close to 1000.00 is Bella Pictures and I am scared to go with them because the reviews range from wonderful to horrible. They were running a 50% special which made the videography 1125.00.

@MrsPinkPeony: How many hours of coverage do you want? You can make it much less expensive with fewer hours.

We’re paying $1800 for 8 hours of coverage and two cameras for pre-ceremony, ceremony and reception.

you could take your luck and search craigslist – or some local students.  It could be a risk but it depends on how important it is to you.  I bet a local art student with equipment from school or friends would love $500 to follow you around all day.  Could you save by doing the editing yourself?  or by a friend?

We paid $1500 for eight hours with two cameras and three copies of the DVD. We also had an extra remote camera he thru in for the cremony. This was Video Visions in WV. He does travel a bit to Pitsburgh and I think parts of the DC area.

I’m in Chicago (obviously), and we had a videographer for about 8 hours or so, and with an edited dvd, he charged…wait for it…$250.  It wasn’t a cinematic masterpiece, but it got the job done, and he threw in a highlight reel per our (last minute) request, which I <3.  We gave him a guest meal (filet mignon) and $50 extra at the wedding and another $25 when we picked up the DVDs.  It was exactly what we wanted, and we found him on CL.

We paid $1500, which is more than we wanted, and we couldn’t have gotten a cheaper price, but these people were really well reviewed without being $3000+
