@amber.woulfe:  I believe ours are $130 @ Men’s Warehouse.  If 5 people rent, then the groom’s is free.  Not sure if thats more or less expensive than you.  FH has been in a few weddings recently and it seemed in line with what he paid to rent.

I went today to our local shop Eva’s Bridal. We are paying 148.00 but that is with a upgraded coat.

Right now, we’re going with the Calvin Klein 2 button tux from Men’s Warehouse.  I was ALSO shocked about the price… It’s about $165.  We’re going to cover the $20 deposit  for the guys to bring it down a bit.  Our 2nd choice is cheaper, but with a pleated pant… I thought for sure flat front was the way to go (which means designer price)… but what do you think??

Most places will give you the grooms for free with a certain amount of Groomsmen and Dad rentals. We didn’t have to pay for DH’s since we met the minimum but our Groomsmen & ushers paid $170, the Dads were $120 and our Ring Bearer was $105. Ours were more expensive because they were a specialty brown that are limited.

Same, MWH for $130.  Hubby’s was free though with 5 GM/father tux rentals

We rented tuxedos from MW’s for our wedding a few weeks ago.  We were also shocked by the price.  They were $165.00 for the Calvin Klein 2 button tuxedo.  It seems like it is in line with what everyone else is paying.

We had originally picked out tuxes that were $139.  Well then the ring bearer’s mom was unhappy with the price and wanted us to change his tux.  So we did. Then one of the guys was unhappy with the price so we just changed them all, except my fiance’s.  So now everybody is wearing pretty much whatever was the cheapest and my fiance is in a nice designer tux, and we have to pay the difference for his rental now 🙁

$143 from Mens Warehouse.  I was in shock too, but the Groomsmen didn’t seem to mind paying for it, so I guess it’s ok then.

The tux I wanted was a Calvin Klein dark charcoal pinstripe, with a vest and tie in Sangria. We were quoted $211 for this at Men’s Wearhouse-this WITH a coupon I had for $40 off per tux! We left and I called around. I found a family run tux place in a town about 40 miles from us that is giving us the same EXACT tuxes, with the same vest and tie for $99.00. They actually had a standard black tux with burgundy vest for $69-but I really did like the Calvin Klein so we went with that. This also includes shirt, shoes and tie. I am telling everyone, if you don’t like the price at Men’s Warehouse, shop around. The locally owned establishments seem to be priced lower.

That’s exactly why we are having our Groomsmen buy nice black suits.  They are under $200 from JosABank AND they get to keep them! Our wedding is more casual (short Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, daytime ceremony) and my Fiance doesn’t like the look of a tux anyway so it worked out.

Ours were about $140 at MW, also.
