We hired a traditional French Canadian, 2 person band (but they both played multiple instruments) to play during dinner. They cost us $500 and it was SO worth it! I thought they would just play music, but they were great entertainers! They had us play the spoons along with the music, learn a traditional and silly dance and played the musical saw! They were awesome!!

$4,500 for a 9 piece band playing 5 hours. Best investment ever!

We’re paying $900 for a quartet to do the ceremony and reception… 6 hours or so. But we’re musicians, too, and they’re our friends, so we’re getting a good rate (they told us they’d do it for as little as $500, but we don’t want to totally screw over our friends). Normally, they charge $2500 for 4 hours.

Holy crap…I play in a 6-piece band, and we’ve played a couple weddings. We charged $400 for one and $600 for the other (longer time, had to learn more songs the couple wanted). We also provided our own sound system.
