We are paying a little over 5k, but that includes an engagement session and a 30 page wedding album.

$4200, and it was her most simplistic package.  Single shooter.  No engagement shoot or extra shoots.  Just included 6 hours of coverage and all images electronically.  She did do a site visit with us in advance to scope out the area and get some ideas of where to do pics.

She was a high end photographer and did a fantastic job.  I don’t regret it, but man, it’s a LOT of money.

$1800+tax/3 hours for a San Francisco elopement.  Super expensive but having a good photographer was important to me and I especially love the old world style of the photographer I am contracting with.

We paid $5,000 here in NJ! It included two photographers (which is different from a photographer and assistant.. make sure they’re clear), Full Day coverage from getting ready to a little after cake cutting (about 11.5 hrs total), a USB with over 1500 full edited images, and an online gallery with full printing rights. I believe investing in a good photographer because they’re one of the only people who can give you forever memories of the day! I didn’t realize how beautiful my wedding was until I saw it in photos. If I got a quote for 1,500 here, I’d think I was getting scammed. It’s all relative to an extent.

We paid $1k for 4 hours of coverage and an engagement shoot.  He was wonderful, and cheap for what we got.

I’m in the midwest.  I spent $3k and that was ~9 hours of coverage, 2 shooters, all digital images, and engagement session.  Good photography isn’t cheap.  Even my photographer we do family/baby pictures with does $300 for 30m-1hr with digital images.

What you’re going to pay is an amazing deal, but you get what you pay for. If you’re good with their quality, then yes that’s a good deal. We paid about $3,800, which seemed middle of the road to us, but we loved their work. I think we got a great deal for the quality. It included an engagement shoot (150 edited photos), 9 hours the day of the wedding, 2 photographers, and then in the end I got over 1,000 edited wedding photos and I love them all!

About $6K. Photos are extremely important to us, and it is the 2nd most expensive item in our budget (after catering). 8 hours, 2 shooters.

katiemc28 :  $250 for 2 hours – single shooter. We’re having a small, intimate wedding though.

katiemc28 :  You will NOT find someone for $400 and if you do it is going to be a teenager learning.  Packages for professional photographers usually start at like 1000 to 1500. Mine was 1500 for the persons time and all the photos on a drive and sent to you. I paid an additional thousand for a wedding album and 2 small parent albums. I also am going to pay extra to get a few large prints made to frame in our home. I think after it is all said and done most people pay 2,000-5,000 and honestly that is not out of line or shocking. Your fiance is in a dream world. If you are trying to cut costs maybe only do a small package like just an option to get the photos digitally and then only do like 4-5 hours of time for the photographer that will still cost about 1-2 grand though. Sorry. I totally get it. It is expensive. If you want someone who is good though it is going to cost you.
