I think it varies depending on the church, individual organists, registered/non-registered parisher, etc.  I’ve seen it range from $100-$400.  We inquired at Catholic churches in both NorCal & SoCal & it REALLY varied, as did the church fee, coordinator fee, etc.

We paid $200 for our church organist. The canter was free, but we did tip him.

Our organist was $250.  A cantor would have also been $250, but instead we “upgraded” and got a full choir for $500.

Our organist is 250 but you have to pay again if you want her at the rehearsal.

I’m very lucky in that one of the groomsmen is a singer and he was willing to do it for free.

good question! I’m curious to hear the answers!

I’m an organist, and I charge $150 for weddings (I sing also, which is an added bonus! :-P) but I believe that if people want a separate cantor it’s about another $100.

Sounds about right. Our church charges $300 for the organist and $150 per singer (we’re having a 12 person choir because I sing in the church choir and HAD to have the professional singers in the choir sing at our wedding).

Ours was a family friend and apparently he only charges $75.   He only asked us for $50 and then gave it back and then some in a card.   We were very lucky.

We hired an acoustic guitar player to play for our ceremony. He’s charging us $290.

Many factors go into what musicians and soloists cost, for instance I assume that the singer is only singing one or two songs, while the organist has to play for the entire ceremony.

When I sing at something like a wedding I charge 100 GBP (about $165 US). For a group of four singers £350 – £400 ($570-650 US).

Musicians are expensive because they’ve trained for a long time, had to buy instruments, pay for lessons, etc. I would say absolute minimum £50/hour ($85 US).
