@tokoloshee:  i’m also in Socal and that is the same quotes I got too.  I received quotes from a few different artists, and this rate is pretty standard in So Cal…sadly!!

I’m paying $60 for hair and $60 for makeup. The Bridesmaids are paying the same but only if they want to. I’m also going to get extensions before that will cost me around $400 but will last around 3 months!

Hello, as a professional veteran Hairstylist  I just want to put in my two-cents about Wedding Hair Prices.

It really DOES matter where you live, how many people are in your party and whether it is off site or in-salon. I think its very important to plan ahead,& do trial runs, even if there is a charge for this. The reason many salons charge for the trials and the wedding day hair is because you are paying for our knowledge, skills, creativity & especially our time.  Most salons have lots of clients, full books and need to charge according to the time involved just like any other services because that is standard practice. In my town most people gauge their updo prices per hour based on double the  haircut price, assuming the haircut takes half hour.. ASK before you book about how long the appt will be, how many styles are included,if you’ll be doing “rough drafts” or finished style etc. If you decide you want to try 3 styles but the stylist only has time for one, or you  showup late or make them late for other appt’s this is a problem for all involved. I also recommend that new people ask for a free quick consultation to meet the stylists, see the salon to determine if they are a good personality match with the client. THAT WAY, you can find someone right for you & feel comfortable in the salon, as you should be, by the time its your day. This could resolve many disappontments… I have found most of the time, the lack of communication between stylists and client is the #1 reason for problems. This goes for any services. People need to ask everything they want to know AHEAD of time, this can only help.

With all this in mind,if money is an issue , perhaps try working with a local Cosmetolgy school in your area, you may be pleasantly suprised.. They are generally well supervised and ususally its at least half the prices of salons. They will be paying great attention too. It just will probably take longer because they are in school.  I hope this helps  you! ๐Ÿ™‚

OOPS! PS- I forgot to add that the SYLISTS should be asking MANY questions too! This is majorly important.

๐Ÿ™ Hopefully nothing, cause I’m gonna try to do it myself. Can’t afford it, otherwise…

Lowest I got quoted was $650… It was $150 for my hair, $150 for my make up – but there was a four person minimum requirement ๐Ÿ˜›

I am going to be paying $350.00 for myself and two girls. That includes hair for all three, taxes, false lashes, airbrushing and the trial.

Try Craigslist that’s where I found my photographer thanks to another Bee who did some research for me!

O wow ladies, some of you seem to be paying a small fortune, I didn’t know how lucky I am ! MY Maid/Matron of Honor is a fantastic hair stylist and my step ma used to do Mary Kay.. I get all the free trials I want and they will be  on call my whole wedding day. The only person paying for their hair to be done is my Maid/Matron of Honor herself, and her boss at her shop is probably doing it , so it will prob. be $20 at most , that probably being a tip haha!
