I’m sure this thread has been done before, but I’m looking for some input from you girls. I am NOTORIOUS for going overboard with gift-giving. I love to give presents and pick out the perfect gift, and so naturally I’m having a field day planning my bridesmaid gifts. I started thinking about what to get basically as soon as we got engaged, lol.
Basically I’m just curious where I fall in terms of bridesmaid gift budget (per girl) so that I can get an idea of whether I should scale back.
So far I’m looking at around $135 each, with six bridesmaids. This includes flip flops, chocolate/candy, short robes, 3-wick scented candles, jewelry (unique to each girl), and Vera Bradley umbrellas. It does not include the gift boxes I got from Michael’s (my mom very generously paid for those). I would also love to add in the personalized name hangers, but with those I’d be closer to $150 per bridesmaid.
Sooooo…. what’s your bridesmaid budget?

$75 to $100 is the budget. I have 4 girls.
This doesn’t include any hostess gifts for showers or bachelorette.

I’m trying to stay at $80 per girl. I am also paying for them to get either hair or makeup done too as part of their gift, so realistically I’m anywhere from $120 – $140 depending on which service they choose.
I have five girls.

About $100 on gifts for each girl (I had 2), however my girls didn’t pay for accommodations, dresses, shoes, jewelry, hair, etc.; their only expense was travel (from CA to NC).

I spent $500, but I only had one Bridesmaid or Best Man so I don’t feel like it was that outrageous. If I had had 4-5 BMs it would have come out to be the same, if not more.

@LilySarah: Maybe I’m cheap, but I got great gift baskets put together for each of my BMs and I had 6 girls. I waited until Bath and Body Works had a sale, and each girl got a standard size shower gel and body lotion, a large candle, and some lip glosses. It was stuff that they all liked, and I got everything for all 6 girls for just over $100.00

I have 2 and I think I’m around $100 per girl but am planning on getting a few more things for them. I’m an over-gifter as well. I guess it’s a one of the better problems to have but not for my wallet!

@LilySarah: I had originally thought I’d get each of my girls a simple necklace from Tiffany but that idea was squashed by a large number of bees (which surprised me) and one of my sisters has since said that she hates all things Tiffany so I’m back to the drawing board. Our budget only allows for $50 per BM/GM but I don’t feel like that’s enough so I’m currently working to make a bit of extra cash to get them a really nice thank you gift closer to the $100-$150 price tag (the necklaces would have been about $140 each and I have 4 girls)

I’m probably going to come out around $50 each for my girls. I’m hand-sewing them some pretty awesome fleece-lined wraps to wear to my winter wedding, though, so hopefully the love counts for a little more. 🙂

I spent $160 on each girl – 7 girls total. I got them gold bracelets that are normally $220 each, but I emailed the boutique and asked if I could get a deal for my bridal party. You’d be surprised at how many small businesses will do this.

@LilySarah: I’m going a little overboard! I got them each monogrammed beach bag, bottle of wine, flip flops, a monogrammed shirt to get ready in and then a bridesmaid survival kit including chocolate lip gloss and other things! About 150 per girl

I’ve spent around $50-60 on my bridesmaids(got them all Tiffany wine glasses, pearl earrings and black satin clutches with rhinestone initial pins).I got the same for my Maid of Honor along with a Monogram Tiffany Necklace which was $100 more.

I had three bridesmaids so we spent $125.00 a piece. We purchased them each a white Nook HD. They made a really good gifts especially for my Bridesmaid or Best Man who is going back to school for her Master’s.
