$50 earrings & necklace + $10 Sale Mates + $55 wedding day hair + $30 Bridesmaid or Best Man dinner = about $145 per Bridesmaid or Best Man. Having wonderful BMs = PRICELESS

This has been a tough one – – I was going to get them Lululemon hoodies and I was buying 1/month – – after a lot of thought I am not doing that and have returned the ones I had purchased.  I am paying for their hair & make up, $125 each and they are getting a pair of Toms shoes $50 (funny that Mrs Pin Cushion posted about this today!!!)

I have 3 BMs.  For their gifts I think I’ll spend about $50-75.  But we’re also paying for their dresses (I’ve budgeted $200 per dress) and I will be putting together a “bridesmaids survival kit” for them.

I have 5 Bridesmaid or Best Man, so gifts can get pricey, but since they will be traveling to attend, and because they are ALL helping me with planning, I felt that it was important to make sure they were well taken care of.  So I am putting paying for half the cost of their dress (up to $300 total price on each so they pay up to 150 and I pay up to 150) in addition to the following:

Tiffany alphabet pendant/necklace (http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP03111&mcat=148204&cid=288157&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+288157-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+) which will actually go as an accent piece on the stem of their Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, Mason Pearson Junior hairbrushes, and a 1 hr luxury massage for the morning after. The goal is to also add a small gift that is unique to each of them, so I’ve been paying attention to small things they like.  I thought about buying their jewelry for the wedding, but that’s such a personal thing and for me personally, I don’t like the idea of giving them “wedding stuff” as gifts. I know, the Tiffany pendant is sorta wedding stuff, but hey, what girl’s gonna turn down that little blue box? (They won’t know about it until they receive their bouquets right before the ceremony)

All of my Bridesmaid or Best Man are traveling to be in the wedding. As a sign of my gratitude, I kinda felt like I should spoil them. So for now, I plan on getting them Tiffany initial necklaces. On the day of the wedding, the pendant will be incorporated into the stems of their bouquet–and the little Tiffany box will be empty but in front of the bouquets. Then I am also going to get them a Mason Pearson Junior brush and a 1 hour massage the day after the wedding. I was really really adamant about not getting them gifts for the actual wedding, so even though the pendant is a “day of the wedding” gift, I figure they won’t mind since no girl in her right mind would hate that little blue box!  As I come across individual and unique stuff for them I will probably add those along the way!

I went pretty all out for my girls and I have five of them.  They are each getting a little handmade ‘survival kit’ along with a bag of fun, girly stuff (loofah, antibacterial for their purse, relaxation cd, bath bombs, water bottles, perfume rollers, and notepads), earrings to wear the day of, the flower pin for their dresses, and this jewelry holder (we are having a bird theme) from Red Envelope:

I’m also still debating on whether or not I can afford to get the each a light gold pashmina to match their shoes since it will be an evening wedding in October (indoors but still).

I checked $30-50 but then realized it’s more like $75 because I spent $50 per girl and then paid for $25 of their Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses (anything over $150 I paid for).

I have 4 and they’re all getting diff. Susan Nichole purses (I swiped them up during a bogo sale…) and sea glass jewellry, handmade soap, “Vampire Blood” Antibac from BBW, (we’re all huge true blood/twilight fans) and I also plan on getting them pink swiss army knives w/ their names on them, and an asian tea set or something like that…

i’m not doing gifts. They are nice girls and all.. i love them.. but aside from buying their dress they arent doing anything that really warrants a gift.  this wedding is pretty lo-fi and we dont have the money for extras.

    am i alone?
