a friend is making me cookies for our favours so they’re free apart from materials and the tags/ribbons to tie to them 🙂

I am spending between $3-4 per person (including packing as well). I am doing 2 french macarons from a local patisserie per person. I ordered the boxes and ribbon from eBay. I guess I should add another $1 per person for cake boxes as we are doing takeaway cake as an option as well because we are having a plated dessert.

I’m using different colours than below of course!

    Making bookmarks:

$11 for 200 brown cardstock bookmarks

$13 for scrapbook paper for them

    $4 for ink

    $3 for stamp

    $2 for printing bookmark text

    Total: $33

    Each bookmark: 0.17!!!

We’re having a book-themed wedding (met acting out a poem in a college English class and I’m an English teacher), plus we have a tradition (long story) of getting each other bookmarks.

We are passing up on doing favors… Instead we are donating $50 to each of the four Compassion International children that my parents sponsor. We are going to put out a table with a picture of each child and their story, as well as a small sign explaining what Compassion is and what we did in lieu of favors.

Even in addition to that we are planning to put a few jars of glow stick bracelets and necklaces out for guests to have on the dance floor (with a sign asking each guest to take one of each).

My fiance’s grandmother is also making cookies for our wedding in addition to our cake (she made 800 for his brother’s wedding) so we are going to make sure the cookie/coffee table is located close to the exit with a sign reminding people to grab an extra cookie and some coffee before they leave.

@swisea01: Mine were $1-$2, I only paid for the box and ribbon (see avatar) as a colleague made Rocky Road

We are baking chocolate whoopie pies for each guest and putting them in a clear plastic back tied with a ribbon in our colors with a tag. Not sure how much we are spending but it will be worth it as edible favors are the best!

were having a tree planting ceremony so I bought origami paper (150 sheets for $10) and one lb of VT wildflower seeds ($30) so $40 for 150 favors… So 27 cents/ person

I was worried after reading how non-edible favors are usually left behind but we bought $1 frames and used them as place cards, with a cute note to put your  photo-booth pictures in them to take home.

Honestly, we didn’t find a single frame at the end of the night! I had 5 no shows, and those frames got taken too.

I had the idea because I hate going home from a wedding with loose pictures.  We didn’t personalize the frames at all, so it wasn’t something that would look dumb at someones house which I feel was the biggest reason for the lack of left behinds.  And the frames were pretty nice IMO (considering the price point!)

Our favors are chocolates from our reception venue.  We have a massive package with them that includes cake, decoractions, favors, etc. so I’m not really sure how much they are.  I probably wouldn’t have done them if they weren’t included though.
