I just got my estimate from my florist. For my bouquet, my BMs bouquet, 6 bouts, and 3 corsages it is $400-$500. I am so happy. I was expecting more!! Is this about what people are paying? I know it varies from place to place. I am just curious.
PS I am in Colorado 🙂

@brenna1035: you got a fantastic deal – even for Colorado that seems low. My family used to be in the flower business but since I’m getting married on Mothers Day weekend, we will pay a premium for wholesale. 🙁

It is a friend of my mom’s. But she is still a florist, so I was really happy she cut me a deal!!

@brenna1035: that is awesome! Remember to give her a big hug as she’ll be toiling away on your bouquet the days before the wedding. It’s finally payback time for me after all the years I spent staying up late on friday nights with my sisters lol! 🙂

I didn’t fit into this poll… although I originally had planned to spend no more than $300 for flowers, we decided to use “flies” (from fly fishing) as bouts for the guys. So now our budget is $200 max for flowers!

@kperry3: That’s a really good idea! Your Fiance must be a fisherman. I don’t think I could incorporate a PS3 into a bout for mine. lol

I’m paying around $7-800, but my total includes centerpieces, so that’s obviously going to be more. That includes my bouquet (white sweet peas) and about 14 smallish centerpieces, plus 2 large bouquets for the guest book table and buffet table.
Edit: that doesn’t include bridesmaid/gm flowers, though, because we’re not having a wedding party.

3 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets
1 groom’s corsage
2 dads, 2 grandmothers, 1 godmother, 2 uncle corsages/bouts
2 mother nosegays
2 oversized ceremony arrangements
6 hanging pomanders
16 full tall centerpieces

@MrsMaine: See, that is close to the estimates I have been getting here in Philadelphia. Is it just a northeast thing or are we just used to sticker shock?

I’m glad to see some other big numbers! We’ve tried a few florists and our favorite came in at about $2000 (many others were higher, and one florist was lower but the flowers were of lesser quality).
That’ll get us:
12 smallish, low centerpieces
1 bridal bouquet
1 Maid/Matron of Honor bouquet
7 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets
2 mother corsages, 2 SIL corsages
2 father bouts, 2 grandfather bouts, 1 Brother-In-Law bout
4 Groomsmen bouts
1 groom bout
a toss bouquet
and I think that’s it! Boston prices seem crazy high pretty much across the board (venues, food, flowers, everything) 🙁

@LuckyJuls: Well for one I definitely think it’s a regional thing. I see people in the south getting all their flowers for like $500-$700 and my jaw drops and I wish I could live there. And of course, MA (where I live, wedding is in Maine) is the most expensive of them all. And of course, a part of it is that we accept it because we are (unfortunately) used to it!
I’m also using really expensive flowers (primarily peonies and hydrangea) so that inflated the price a bit.

Under 300! We’re not doing flower bouquets and bouts, I’m doing pinwheels instead. For ceremony decoration flowers we’re buying several ceramic planters and growing our own wildflowers 🙂

@MrsMaine: for what it’s worth, i don’t think you are overpaying.

@MrsMaine: That makes total sense. Peonies and hydrangea are my favorites, too. Sigh, I guess I will be saving hardcore!
For what you are getting its a good price and you’re definitely not overpaying. It’s just so crazy that in other parts of the country, it’s a lot cheaper.

We spent 700 on DIY flowers. We borrowed vases and ordered 400 roses, 100 mini calla lilies, and some white mums.
That made 12 table arrangements and two bouquets
