Our guys are renting tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse. It’s $145.20 for each tux. Ours are actually more expensive because my Fiance went with white tux jackets and black pants. With a black jacket I think they would have been between $85 and $100.

ETA: We did give our guys the option between renting a tux and buying a suit. They chose tux rental. Not sure if you are ok enough with both options to ask your guys their opinions if they are paying for them? I know some guys like having an excuse to wear a tux while others would like a suit they get multiple uses from.

@accorn:  it is a lot of money, but Fiance wanted a specific one so MW is where we went.  if your Fiance doesn’t care, he could certainly find a cheap suit somewhere to wear!

$200 to buy.

Why? Because… “If you get to buy a poofy dress, I get to buy a tux.”

Our guys bought their suits from Macy’s. The cost to rent a tux was about the same as purchasing. The suits were $120 plus tax.

Some of my FI’s groomsment are renting their tuxes and some are buying. For the rentals, which includes everything: Tux coat, and pants, pleated dress shirt, bow tie, stud set and cuff links, patent leather shoes, etc it will be around 130.00. They will need to purchase the suspenders (I like the look of suspenders and no cumberbund) which will prob be around 20.00 and we’re not doing any vest or colors – just classic black tux, black bow tie.

For the guys that are buying (including my FI), the tux jacket and pants are like 900.00 or so and then they’ll need to buy the shirt, shoes, bow tie, suspenders, etc. But we’re doing everything through Jos. A Bank so like right now, they have “buy one, get 2 free”, so my mom is going to buy my Fiance, brother and one of our close friends’ thats also a groomsmen’s tux – so if they split three ways, the jacket and pants end up being around 300/person. Then they just need the shirt, shoes, bow tie (I got my Fiance a white Hermes bow tie) and cuff links/studs (and my parents got my Fiance a beautiful set of studs and cufflinks).

Ours are going to be $120 to rent from Mens Warehouse, including tux vest shoes shirt and tie. I got a coupon in the mail from them for $40 off every tux rental, plus a free rental for the groom with 10 other rentals. I am giving the guys each a pair of fancy tuxedo dress socks as part of their gift (those were not included in the cost of our rental).

We got them from Jos. A. Bank for $175.  Why rent something when you can own it for a few dollars more?  Plus, I’ve been to too many weddings where it looked like the groomsmen were wearing their dad’s suit.  And their dad was 7 feet tall and 300 pounds.
