I have 4 bridesmaids and will be paying for their makeup on the day (about $50 each). I also want to buy them a necklace or hair-piece to wear. THEN I found on etsy button-up shirts with their names embroidered ($30) to wear while getting ready.
Is this enough? Should I add anything else?

I’m doing about that much– paying for their hair, a small piece of jewelry, and maybe a getting ready shirt or robe. I thinhk it depends how invovled they are also– I haven’t expected my BMs to do anything other than buy a dress and show up. No bachelorette party or shower, no help from them with DIY stuff or prep. So if they’d been more involved maybe I’d feel like I “owed” them more.

@AutumnElegance: Yeah I agree. My bridesmaids aren’t very involved. They haven’t really offered to help with anything. My sister (MOH) and mom are doing my shower and my sister is mainly the one organizing my bachelorette party. The others might help with that, but I doubt that much. I will prob get my Maid/Matron of Honor sister something extra- or give her a gift at the shower for hosting it.

Let’s see…. dresses… hope they’ll be under £50 each… a small gift… perhaps £10 towards some jewellery… shrugs/boleros/wraps… oh, and I’ll have to pay for accommodation and transport for one of them…
Then there’s shoes. *sigh*. If they don’t have shoes in the right colour, I will be paying for those also.
I think that’s pretty standard for the UK though.

My only bridesmaid is my sister. I bought her dress ($175). She has/will pay for everything else (new shoes, new jewelry, hair/make-up, hotel).
Her husband (my Brother-In-Law of 15 years) will be our officiant. So, plan to buy them a gift certificate to a really nice restaurant ($100-200) as a thank you gift.

I have 6 girls. I’m paying for their hair (~$60) plus a few other more personal gifts. Should end up being around $100 at the end of the day.

Are you going to give them a gift that doesn’t have to do with your wedding?

I am paying for their dresses which are $330 each. I have 4 bridesmaids. They are going to have to pay for their own hair and makeup.

I paid for their dresses and bought them Not Wedding Related gifts, so over $160.

I’m just doing the traditional Bridesmaid or Best Man gift, so whatever that jewelry ends up costing. Under $50pp, I think.
I’m not asking that they get their hair/makeup/nails done, or that they buy new shoes, and they’re picking out their dresses with the requirement that they will wear them again. So their expenses are pretty minimal once pre-wedding parties and gifts are taken out of it.

I paid $35.00 toward each of their dresses (customs bill came after they’d already paid the amount I thoght they weredso I didn’t want to ask for more after the fact) and got them each a pair of pjs for $20.00, a pair of flats to change in to for $30.00 and a picture frame for $20.00 as well as lunch out the day of the wedding so just over $100 per person. Then I paid for a 3 nights hotel for my shower and wedding for one that said she couldnt attend otherwise so another $600 on one.
