    Wait… $4 per person X 400 people = $1,600.00

Yes, I think thats a little steep.

We’re doing cupcakes and a top layer, but it’s going to be pretty cheap because it’s a store that just opened and my friend’s mom is the owner. I’m estimating something in the $500 range.

Mines $3.33/person at $405 for a groom’s cake and wedding cake.  It may be a little high for my area but we’re getting two cakes AND they’re an AWESOME bakery 🙂

If cake isn’t a priority than go with whatever price point you’re comfortable with. You are bound to find a cake in whatever price point you are comfortable with. We wanted a wow cake for photos so we spent $7/pp on ours.

Mine is $4 per slice. Luckily I found a great baker who doesn’t charge extra for different flavors/fillings (no matter how many we choose) or designs (we are doing a white-on-white damask with a rhinestone ribbon on the bottom of each tier). She also doesn’t charge a deilivery fee. It was a little over $600 (servings for roughly 140 people plus tax)

My cake was $420 and that served 120. That price included delivery. So $3.50 a slice? Besides going to a grocery store it was the most reasonable price I could find.

Mine is included in the price of catering (which is included in the price of the venue along with open bar, tables, linens, chairs, and valet parking). So I have no idea how much they would say it costs. I know we would not get a discount if we decided not to serve cake, so I consider it free.

@ellbell921:  Haha… no worries!  I do stuff like that all the time…

The cakes around here are cheaper, I guess.  I just feel like thats SOOO much to pay for a cake…

We have a niece in FI’s family that bakes for special occasions. We will be having 100-120 peopel on our wedding and I would liek a small cake to cut at the top and the rest cup cakes. I am not sure how much she will change us but since it’s a family memebr I am sure it won’t be too much. My budget is 300.

Ours is about $4/person, but we got upgraded flavors and she isn’t charging us for any equipment (cake stand, knife, etc).  Our biggest concern was the taste, so that was the deciding factor for us.
