I’m not sure what area I should be thinking of. The gift that I think is totally awesome and I want to get Fiance is over 500, but I’m not sure if that’s too much or not. What is everyone spending, if you don’t mind me asking!

We’re not getting each other gifts, but we we’re buying a joint gift (getting a camcorder!!)

We agreed on a $700 limit (but secretly I think I’ll be going slightly over). We agreed that the gift had to be sentimental and timeless so we were both willing to spend on something we would treasure forever.

We aren’t getting each other gifts either. I actually have been (trying) to keep a journal and I write to him in it, and I will give him that on our wedding day. We live 1000 miles away so it makes sense to write to him.

@heidireeves: That’s so sweet. Fiance & I were semi-long distance for 4 years while he was away at school 2 hours away. We would do a “traveling journal” and each would write in it at least once and we would switch off every time we saw each other. It’s such a sweet thing to do and to be able to read it later on!

I did Boudoir pics with an album and it was exactly $500. He got me a pearl necklace which was probably a bit more. We didn’t discuss it much ahead of time… It all depends on your budget. I knew that I really wanted to do Boudoir pics and that was about as low as the price could go.

The wedding is our gift to each other, and we will be writing a note/card to each other.

So far, $18. I might be getting him something else though….

We’re not getting each other anything, we’re paying for the wedding ourselves so that is our gift to each other and spending the rest of our lives together is a pretty great gift.

I’m spending about $500 on pin up girl pics, but its kind of a gift to myself too! And then just a few little things like cigars for him and the groomsmen, a pair of wool socks (for cold feet), and maybe one more thing but I can’t think of what! i’ll probably spend about $550 total.

I haven’t gotten it yet, but it definitely looks like I will be spending more than $500 :/
Sorry to threadjack, but I’m curious as to when is (or did) everyone giving your grooms their gifts? What I’m getting is pretty large, so it isn’t like I can just bring it along on the honeymoon or anything… I was thinking of having someone drop it off either at the hotel room before we head back there for the night, or back at our place, which means that he won’t get it till 2 days after the wedding, when we come home. Thoughts?

@Drums: Thats ok =)
I think most people have someone ‘deliver’ or bring it to the groom the morning of the wedding…. maybe your Maid/Matron of Honor if there is time!

I spent a lot…mainly because he’s always buying me expensive presents, and I’ve never really spent more than $400 on somethiing for him. Plus, I wanted to get him a watch and those ain’t cheap! 🙂

I spent $300 on a watch for him and about $40 on cufflinks for him. I dont think we set a price range though!
