Well my dress is around 5k including alterations, but I’ve had to fly/drive multiple times to my fittings so it’s up to about 7k now thanks to those added costs. Shoes, veil, etc. not included.

I bought a preowned Pnina Tornai satin ball gown which brand new retail is worth $9000. I bought it for $4800 and my seamstress says alterations will be $650 which I will be starting tomorrow! 🙂 So it will come to $5450 total. As for accessories, so far I only have my shoes and my earrings. Which was only $140 for both. I’ve been trying to save on my accessories because my dress was so much. But it was worth every penny because I have my dream dress!

I bought my dress right before it was released to the public here. It came up to $1750AUD and I’m expecting at least another $400AUD in alterations (more boning, straps, hemming & bustle).

    When I married my ex-DH, I spent $3000.

After our wedding I said that was a crazy amount to spend on a wedding dress and it was silly to spend so much.

Now ex-DH and I are getting divorced and I have a new amazing SO who I would love to marry one day, I can easily see myself spending the same amount of money, although if I could find a dress under $1000 I would be thrilled! I may look at second hand dresses if I get engaged again.

I was prepared to spend up to $5000, but ended up choosing a dress (Pronovias Mildred) that was only $2000. The sample fit me like a glove, so I ordered the same size and am hoping I won’t need alterations.

    $3k for dress, including tax.

I used to think it wasn’t much, but after seeing so many bees post about their not so expensive but beautiful dresses I’m starting to feel like I spent way too much on a Dress.

I’m just SOOOOO picky, so when I fell in love w my dress that was it. I had been looking online to get an idea of what I liked and although I saw some nice dresses nothing caught my eye the way my dress did.

Dress alone was 1200…200 over my goal but at least it was 300 under my max of 1500 (looking for silver linings as my bank account screams in agony).

andreab216:  While my mom technically bought mine, it was under $800 with a sash included… discontinued sample about 2-3 sizes too big, but originally $2000+. Unfortunately, I’m paying for alterations so I’m probably going to spend $500-600 on that according to the seamstress.

My dress was on sale at Davids for $449. The petticoat was $70 (and I wear it all the time with other dresses, or I would have spent less). I used a short portion of my mom’s veil so the cost was oxy clean to wash it, and thread and a hair comb to attach it to. Shoes were around $60. Belt was $2.50 on Ebay. Since the dress I fell in love with was $2,500, I think I did a great job finding something similar for much less.

Just under $7K AUD I think. Deisgned for me so won’t need alterations. I see so many beautiful pics of dresses that cost both more and less than that…. it’s about what you can afford / want to pay and what you feel amazing in. I never thought I would bother with a “wedding” dress but here I am…. you just never know!

andreab216:  The first dress I bought was 850$ at David’s after site discount and promo code. The 2nd dress I bought (which will be my wedding dress) was 980$. I thought it was worth it to spend the little extra money on a dress I loved
