@missjewels:  I got my dresses for $128 plus tax no alterations were needed cause it is a convertible dress. I live in Ontario also and couldn’t believe the cost of dresses when I first started looking! I think David’s bridal will be your best bet for decently priced dresses or look online

I paid for the dresses myself and pretty much had to keep it under $100 each. I looked everywhere and I finally ended up ordering my girls’ dresses off of Anntaylor.com. They were all on sale (last year’s colors I guess) plus 50% off sale prices. The dresses ranged from 35-55 each and I paid $285 for six dresses including tax and shipping! Each dress was originally priced around $225, and they are very nice and silk so I got a steal.

I did have to mix and match colors though because there were limited sizes in some of the shades. So they are all wearing the same dress in shades of blues and greens (beach wedding) and they chose their neckline for the most part (some colors didn’t have all the choices left). I was originally against mixing colors but I ended up with 3 colors I love and fit my theme of ‘seaglass’ and I love the result. Also they were non returnable, so I ordered full price (returnable) dresses, had the girls try them on for size, and sent those back and ordered the sale ones.

If you have time to wait you can probably snag their dresses on sale. Most of the sale now is pretty picked over… but Ann Taylor almost always offer specials with 40% off regular price items.

When I was looking I also found some cute dresses on 6pm.com that could have worked, so you should check there.

@LavenderBride24:  High five! I also got Ann Tayler dresses and the final price ended up being $62! They still offer the style we bought, it was just because of the color it was on sale =)

I paid for all my attendants’ dresses. I picked J. Crew’s Arabella dress, and got it on a wicked Cyber Monday sale for a steal of $52 a dress! Since it was a dark brown (espresso), it matched my color scheme of olive, brown, and ivory perfectly.

I am also in Canada and I had your exact problem!  My girls wore knee length dresses and there was nearly nothing below $200.  They each got a different style of dress, but they ended up paying between $175-$215.  I felt terrible, but we looked everywhere for something cheaper, but the only other options were not in the right colour.

I’m in Ontario, Canada as well and my maids are ordering their dresses off Etsy.

My sister already got hers and its beautiful! It needs to be taken in a TINY bit in the waist but other than that its perfect.

    The dress was under $80.

I got my lady a dress from Holt Renfrew (not sure if anyone knows that store) but I got her a hugo boss dress because I’m having a black tie affair wedding.

We went halfs on the dress though because it was expensive but it was the only dress we could agree on

Mine are $127… plus a little extra for whateer alterations they choose. The longer dresses we were looking at were around $200.  I felt bad for having them spend that much though because I knew many other expenses would be coming.

I had my girls pick their own Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. My only requirement was the color and approximate length.  They are so different in style taste and body shape it wasn’t fair to make them all buy the same one. However, they all bought their dress for less than $100 each.

My bridesmaids got to pick their own dresses. They varied in price from $40 to $230. It just depended on where they wanted to get them from 🙂
