@Meant2Bee: Including transportation, well over $1000, because we are doing a Destination Wedding in Italy. But they only have to pay for their flight (approx $1300) and dress ($140), while I am taking care of everything else: jewelry, accomodations, food for the week, wraps, etc.

ETA: We paid for flight for one of my Bridesmaid or Best Man and her BF bevause we really wanted them there. Supposedl they are paying us back, but we’ll see. The same Bridesmaid or Best Man is borrowing a dres to wear, so she actually isn’t paying anything.

I think most of those costs are associated with going to the wedding, not being in the wedding. My girls would spend the same on travel and wedding gifts even if  they were a regular guest. And they’re different for each girl considering they live all over the place. One bridesmaid came to my shower and brought a gift, but, again, that would be true if she was just a guest.

So the cost for being in my wedding was their dress – they  picked  their own dress, so I don’t know prices for all of them, but I know one girl got hers for $40. And they probably split the cost for some booze and to decorate my suite for the batchelorette party, which was probably $10 each.

i wanted the least amount possible on them. so they are buying their dress, they choose the dress so they choose the budget. I am paying the rest of the bill for everything except the shower and wedding gift. my Maid/Matron of Honor is paying for the shower.

Their dress: They choice, but I did send them a few that I liked at $60.  I’m letting them pick out their own, so they can go as expensive or cheap as they’d like

Shoes: I asked them to pick out silver shoes that they liked.  I sent them a few examples around $20, but again, they can choose what they want.

Jewelry: I asked them to pick out silver accessories.  Hopefuly they already have this on hand

Hair/make up: I haven’t made any specifications yet.  If I do, I’m probably going to cover it.

    Nails: I’m buying them pedicures

Travel/accomodations: They have the option of a $125 room.  They aren’t required to stay there and they can definitely split it.

Bridal shower: No idea.  It’s coming up and they are having it at the community center.  Probably too much between decorations and food!Smile

    Bachlorette party: No idea again!

    Wedding gift: No idea!

I’m trying to be flexible and make this an easy wedding to be in.  Hopefully they don’t feel too put out!  Weddings can be expensive to be in!!
