@Ninteenthchance:  How much are your car payments? How much more $$ do you owe on it?

ZERO!

We have two cars and neither have car payments.  My dad engrained into me to never have a car payment.  So I only pay cash for my cars (luckily $4000 can get you a decent car here).

My H bought a Subaru Outback before he met me and paid it off in 3 years.

I bought my 2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan new; I think the total on the note was around $17k.  Other than routine maintenance I’ve never had a problem with it.

My monthly car payment was around $272/month but I ended up paying it off in around 4 1/2 years by paying $300/month and putting some money I had saved up in a CD into it.

I plan to drive it into the ground, so to speak.  Not sure what I’ll buy next; the Scion FR-S is pretty sexy but not sure that it’s such a good idea to go to a coupe.

Mine are $301/mo. I have a 2012 Ford Focus SEL hatchback that I bought in March of ’12. I am currently about a year ahead on payments and only owe about $14k on it. With bonuses next year I expect to own it free and clear by the time it hits 36k miles.

Fiance has a couple cars, an ’09 Toyota Tacoma that is paid off and a 2013 Scion FR-S that his payment is $250 on.

I am angling to pay off my car so I can buy a big SUV like a Suburban– I want to use it to pull a horse trailer.

I have a 2013 Kia Optima SX (it’s the turbo one fully loaded).  My payment is $465 a month. I financed about $31000 for 1.99% after putting 1100 down. I hope to have this car for a long time. I love Kias and their warranties.

I had a subaru a few years ago…they hold value so well that when I went to trade it, I owed 5,000 and the dealership gave me 11,000 for it.  So, I had that positive equity to roll into the CR-V that I bought.  Payments are $340/mo, but I pay more.  Had I not had the equity, it would have been a much higher payment.

I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Sante Fe this past Saturday, I traded in my 2003 Santa Fe after having to take it into the shop every other week since Febuary. I went into the dealership after seing the memorial day 0%APR for 60months but I got there to find out it was only on the sedans but I test drove the Santa Fe anyway and I feel in love and I was sold.

The was was $35k, I traded in my 2003 for $4k, saved up money after my 2003 was paid off and things, I put down $17k and the rest took out a loan and I am paying $600 a month for the next 2 years. Darling Husband traded in his 2003 benz ml and got a 2014 range rover and he pays about $3k a month, to me its a waste of money it looks like a re-baged Ford Explorer, but this is the first time we are upgrading our cars since we got married and we keep car payments seperate, so he can have whatever he can afford. But we both have room for future carseats!

$303 for my Focus that I purchased.

FI’s car payment is ridiculous at $500 a month – but he wanted a sports car.  This was also pre us, so not like I had any say in it.  He’ll have it paid off next year.  WOOT!
