I used a calculation method I found online for wine.
# of guests x # of hours x 1 glass/hour=# of glasses needed
# of glasses / 5 per 750ml bottle= # of bottles
Then Divide by how many types of wine you will serve to figure out # of each kind
GREAT very helpful, problem though.
We are also serving beer, soda and water. Now, I would say we are at a half and half for beer and wine, would you ladies just take your final answer from the calculation and divide by 2 and call it good?

I would only reduce the wine & beer by one quarter each, instead of half. That way you won’t run out of either for your guests, if they tend to drink more towards one of the choices. But, I base this decision on my liquor store will buy back any unopened bottles of wine and any full six packs of beer. They’re a great family-owned store that’s been in business here for awhile. Hopefully a store near you has a similar policy. Cheers!

You can never have enough, right? We are serving wine, beer, soda, and water, and juice boxes for the kids. We have way more beer drinkers than wine. We bought 24 bottles of wine, and 5 cases of beer for 42 people (with about 10 guests not drinking alcohol). We are having a Destination Wedding so we will be staying the whole week in the same house, so for us, nothing will get wasted as we will just drink any leftovers throughout the week.
