How much cake and dessert did you serve?

    80. There should be enough cake for every person regardless of other desserts available

    65. Along with the other food/desserts you are seving, you will be wasting food if you have so much

    Something in between 65-80

    Less than 65

I would rather have extra cake rather than purposely not have enough for each person. Having extra is no big deal but running out and having people upset is kind of a disaster. I would be super sad if I went to a wedding and there wasn’t enough cake for me! Some people will probably even have seconds if available.

We had takeaway boxes for people to take home cake and our late night snack buffet. And our DOC also boxed up some extra cake for us!

36 cookies for 80 people????  What kind of crowds does your baker cater for where people average less than 1/2 a cookie each?  You need bare minimum 80 cookies, but probably 160 or 240 would be better!  I think 80 servings of cake plus 160 cookies would be a good amount to make sure everyone has their fill.  If you were talking about a full-on dessert spread with 4+ options, you wouldn’t need a serving of each for everyone, but cake and cookies isn’t all that elaborate.  I can easily picture someone taking 3 or 4 cookies.

P.S. Thank you for including fruit!  I would not be one of the people taking cake plus multiple cookies, but I would be all over the grapes and pineapple. 🙂

Soooo we had to have our numbers in before rsvps so we had cake/dessert for 130 people and 80 at the wedding. We had a lot leftover but people got to chow down on as much as they wanted. Lol. I say at least one per.

As someone who will happily eat multiple pieces of cake, I say definitely go for the 80 serving size cake!

I think 80. I know not everyone eats the cake, but I think it’s worth putting your mind at ease. I had 85 guests and ordered 100 cupcakes, so obviously I lean on the ‘more’ side! We had heaps of cupcakes left over but that’s ok. If you won’t be eating it I’m sure your family will be happy to have it. If you had lots of different pies and cakes you could get away with less, but fruit and cookies isn’t that much.

We had the takeaway boxes for the cupcakes which did work well, otherwise my sister took home the leftovers and was super happy about it haha. You can always freeze it.

People love dessert. It’s often the favourite thing. Personally you don’t have enough. We had a huge cake and a dessert buffet.

I would go with more cake. Leftover wedding cake makes an awesome breakfast in bed the next day. Just make sure someone sets it aside for you.

p.s. we ordered an extra half sheet and it was inhaled. So you can’t always count on lots of cake being leftover.

I would go with the 80 piece cake, but at a friend’s wedding, we had cake, cupcakes and donuts. There were a ton of each leftover, so they brought them to the hotel for the after party. Everything was inhaled!
