(Closed) how much candy for 80 people buffet?

The thing about the candy buffets is they are a visual thing. Even if you have a generous amount of candy per guest, it might not look very striking on display. I’ve heard of estimates for 15 lbs of candy per candy type (at 5-10 candy types) to make a visual impact.

It’s really up to you if that’s important or not, because that’s a TON of candy.

I planned for 1/2 lb per person. I bought 100 lbs of candy. I would guess that maybe 40 lbs was actually consumed (160ish guests). I had 11 vases and 10 diff types of candy. I got about 10 lbs per type. This was more than needed (even visually). I probably had 30 lbs of candy that didn’t even fit in the glass vases. The DOC kept it under the table in case the vases needed to be refilled – they did not. We ended up throwing it all away…so wasteful.
