I have no credit cards and Fiance pays his credit card off every month (only uses it to get his 5% cash back at the end of the year!).

I have about $2,000 on one credit card. I don’t even use it anymore, but it was mainly used for buying nursing books for school, and I got hit with a pretty big bill after I went to the emergency room.

I’ve never used a credit card (and will try not to for as long as possible), I paid the full amount for my car when I got it, I have no student loans, etc. I do owe a few thousand dollars to my father though… Surprised

I’m surprised that the most common answer by far was only $0-1000 of credit card debt. That’s great!

None, I consider them to be the devil!!!

Last time I used my credit card was when I purchased my dress (I was told they protect you more should something go wrong with the dress) and it was paid immediately the next month.

To the OP what do you consider debt?

Right now I have over $3000 on my credit card, but I will pay it off before I’m charged interest.  Some of that is from wedding expenses.  It was higher, but I was nearing my $5000 limit so I through some money on their, but I would like to earn some interest on my savings.

I usually have a semi-high balance every month (over $1000).  I used pay rent with my credit card, but stopped when they started charing a $25 fee.  It’s worth it to get the extra bit of time to earn interest and to collect rewards points.  It also reduces the number of transactions I would make with a debit card, so I don’t go over my free transactions each month.

I only have student loan debt, which is being deferred while I’m in school. My FH has about $2,000 in credit card debt, but I told him to try to pay off half of it by the wedding.

No credit card debt!  I got in about a grands worth of trouble with a credit card when I was younger.  Got it paiod off and swore never to spend money I don’t actually have again.  So neither of us believe in them.  We have 5k saved up in the bank.  We use that as our own personal line of credit.  We have used it to buy a lounge, a computer, a fridge, a Widescreen TV.  Next will be a new bed.  We make regular payments and make sure it all goes back, just as if it was a credit card.

ETA: one of my F!s mates discovered his Fiance had a credit card she had gotten and had hidden from him.  It had about 3 grand on it.  He only found out about 4 days before the wedding.  And yes it still went ahead….I was suprised.

I have one credit card with $1,300 balance on it, and a $600 balance on our mattress that I financed with Sears.

    Otherwise, Fiance is debt free!

We have about $140 in credit card debt as of right now, and we’re actually paying it all off this month.. He’s really good about that sort of stuff; me, they’re both my credit cards, and I tend to use them more than I should :-/ but I’ve gotten better with watching it and we don’t really use them all that often..
