Mine cost $40 and I got it back about 2 hours later. Just make sure your ring is fully insured before leaving it anywhere..you never know!

@Soon2BMrsMiles: well if they are adding gold, sizing up,then it’s bound to be a lot more than if they were sizing down. gold is not cheap

Sizing down my ering from a 7 to a 5-1/2 was free for me because I took it back to the same jeweler my fiance bought the setting from. Now I have a band that needs to be sized downb as well, plus soldered to my ering sometime close to the wedding (and both redipped = shiny for my wedding day). So I was wondering the same thing- I think I’ll take them back to the same jeweler & hope they don’t charge me an arm & a leg for it!

To get mine sized down was free from the jeweler we got it from.

I took my ring to a local, mom-n-pop, yet reputable, jeweler in town. It cost $35 to have my ring sized down.

Mine was about $110 to go up about a size and a half I think.

I need to take it somewhere else after the wedding though, it needs to be thickened up – it was his grandmother’s ring and setting and from wear and tear and resizing it’s not as strong as I think it could be.

So we’ll either beef it up or possibly get another setting.

@Soon2BMrsMiles: I’m happy you found a jeweler that’s more reasonable.

My resizing and other maintenance is included in the lifetime warranty of my ring.

Here in VA it’s $30, but when I went to NJ over Christmas I was quoted $20.

We got my set at Shane Co., so everything is included for life. Cleaning, maintenance, sizing, rhodium plating, repairs- all free for life, as long as I bring it in every 6 months for an inspection.

My resizing and maintenance were included in the extended warranty that my Fiance got with the ring but there was a lady at the store when I picked up mines and she paid 99.00

To have my yellow-gold cathedral set ring down-sized 0.5 was $50 here in ND.

My ring came with a lifetime warranty as long as I show up there for maintenance every six months…  (kind of annoying to be honest, but worth it haha) I can resize it as many times as I want for no cost, I sized it up twice already. If stones fall out they will also replace them for free.

My husband’s ring is the same even though we got it in a different store, he only has to show up once a year and I get my ring cleaned there for free too.  I guess depending on where you bought your ring, can’t you just take it to the same store? Even if you don’t have warranty I wonder if at least they’d make it a better price
