My Fiance spent more on his suit than I did my dress. He wears suits for work though, so he wanted something super nice he could wear again. He ended up with a Burberry suit, which I am so excited to see him in!!

DH and his groomsmen got their slim-fit suits at Le Chateau. They cost $350 or $400 CDN.

Spent $600 on mine. It was a bit of a splurge, but I wear suits weekly, and appreciate the quality.

@MrsRevolutionize:  We’ve bought my fiance several suits at the Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet that were originally $1000+, and paid about $500 each time. If you don’t have a Saks or Neiman’s outlet near you, watch ruelala.com, hautelook.com, and gilt.com. My fiance doesn’t like to spend money on clothes, but my argument is that he only has to have 1-3 outfits, and he can wear to every professional and formal event for at least 10 years. Think how much money women spend on outfits for all of those occasions. $500 is a steal!

Edited to add: I forgot about alterations. Definitely find the best tailor in your area. We spent about $150 on my fiance’s alterations. He sounds like he has a similar build to your Fiance. He buys slim fit suits, but they still need to be taken in. I have noticed that things he buys look better if they were slim fit to start, even after alterations. I think it’s easier for them to make something fit perfectly if it was close to fitting to begin with.

My Fiance decided he wanted to look like 007 in Skyfall. Which is a midnight blue shawl lapel one button tux. We bought from Hugo Boss because the alterations are included in the price and he loves it! The reason we bought instead of renting is because we go to theater events at least 5 times a year. This gives him a variety from classic black tux. It’s kinda funny for me because at some level i think he’s convinced himself he’s James Bond.

below is the tux we bought
